I have installed RCT1+LL to run on Windows 7 from the original CDs just fine. I have even managed to successfully install and run my scenario cracker aCceSS All Parks as well.
But when I look at Good Old Games http://www.gog.com/g...r_tycoon_deluxe where they specialise in getting old games to run on newer versions of Windows, they are selling it.
I've never had problems with RCT1 in XP or Windows 7. Anybody else?

I play RCT1 on Win 7 Home premium, x64 version. The game runs without too much trouble.

I've done some tweaking in the last couple of days and weirdly, even though RCT was designed for Win95/98, it does not run properly on Win7 in the 95 or 98 compatibility boxes. XP+SP3 compatability seems the best option.
I'm running Win7 32-bit Ultimate.

I've just downloaded all 3 RCTs from GOG.com. They all seem to work well and I'm running Windows 7 Professional. The site states that they should run on Windows 8 too, but my youngest won't let me experiment on his machine. I've found that GOG is really doing a great job making the old games run on the newer OS. I've even been playing my old favorite 7th Guest. You should check them out.
