It's been a while, but due to nostalgia from not playing any RCT game for almost 3 years, I decided to go back to the basics of just replaying the RCT1 scenarios and seeing if I can make it all the way to the end. I forgot how easy this game was to be honest. Making money on the early scenarios, all you've got to do is charge a high price for the entrance fee and the rides, and you won't have to borrow a loan! Need guests? Just advertise to the max (Though this doesn't work on inifinite money scenarios), and although I've been a little lazy on just using custom built track layouts so far, it's still fun making a rollercoaster here and there, but to be honest, the RCT1 scenarios are alot more fun than the RCT2 ones (Alot of the RCT2 ones seemed rushed). Well, at least its killed some time for me over the summer, but its nice to replay this one and remember what hooked me onto RollerCoaster Tycoon in the first place. To be honest though, I never properly unlocked Mega Park, so maybe I'll try and aim for that. I haven't used a trainer yet either, but I might just to deliberatly make the guests all sick, angry, and want to go to the toilet, so they turn red faced and vandalise the park. Those were the days! :D

Yep. It happens to me every so often, I think "Hmm. How about trying rct1 again? Maybe just a little, it isn't that much fun anymore..." and then I have a blast!
I do think rct2 is more fun than rct1, but if you haven't played it in a while, it gets a bit addictive.
But I'd NEVER wait 3 years, though.

The only things I miss in RCT1 is the shop/ride stacking. Other than that, RCT1 is superior in the scenarios. I've finished alot of the RCT2 scenarios already, since half of them are really short, and the other half are really long, and this is including Wacky Worlds and Time Twister too! Surprisingly though, Arid Heights is giving me alot of trouble to complete!

I like some of the rct2 scenarios better.
But I think Evergreen Gardens is my favorite for rct1. A true classic.
Plus, you don't even have to unlock it!

Hey, RCTtom! Welcome back to the Space - I'm glad you're back into RCT. The orginal scenarios are always fun. I still do them quite often! :)

The rct2 expansion pack scenarios seriously lack some originality.

The rct2 expansion pack scenarios seriously lack some originality.

...and consistency.

...and sense of scale.

I felt the same way early this year. I'm considering playing RCT1 again.

Have you tried downloading the original rct1 scenarios for rct2?

That's what led me to this site, I haven't played in years, and last time I played, I played rct1 parks in rct2. Glad I found this site that has all the rct1 parks for rct2!

I too am currently working through the RCT1 scenarios.I do use the 4cars trainer though, but only after completing the scenarios. You can advance the time so you don't have to wait a year or so to get the "Congratulations" notice. Plus after completing them you can you can crowd the parks with peeps, give them all balloons, and listen to them all POP at the end.
