Believe it or not, the Son of Beast, with it's signature loop (that was removed about 5 years ago) at Kings Island in Ohio has been closed. I believe it was closed due to the number of injuires that occured on the ride. I am not 100% sure however. Has anyone ever been on this ride? I have. (When it still had the loop)

I haven't ridden Son of Beast, but I did ride the Beast once when I was young.. it was right at dusk, couldn't see where the train was going.. it was pretty awesome

Son of Beast, safety issues aside, was prone it mechanical and maintenance troubles surrounding the heavy amounts of wood; wooden coasters (with steel supports or otherwise) aren't meant to exceed heights of 180 feet high. Had Son of Beast been some kind of steel coaster, the issues present inn wooden tracks will not apply; even the ride's loop would possibly still be present!
