I have been meaning to set a thread in this category for awhile. I love restaurants both to patronize and to build because they lend themselves so well to theming.
So let's start out with some exotic cuisine...
There is a real Magic Lamp restaurant in So. Cal. They had the best garlic cheese toast in the world and flaming shish-kabob right at your table.
Here we have two places, Dutch Treat with pasteries and candies and Fender Benders...
Fender Benders was based on a real place too. Home style hamburgers in 1950s deco.
Here is the Lotus Garden.
A nice place to stop for tea after a busy afternoon of 5th Avenue shopping.
I have never been to Benihana's...
Big Ben's...
A bit of old London. Steaks, chops and prime rib served to you by a buxom lass.
The Country Grove restaurant, famous for country breakfasts served with their own fresh squeezed orange juice grown right on the premesis...
(Sorry, no take-out on orange juice!)
The Left Bank. Crepe Suzettes, Chicken Cordon Bleu? You name it and they'll scrape it off the pan for ya'.
I hope you have enjoyed our little feast, more to come later!

It's been awhile, my computer died on me and 9 years worth of builds are sitting in my old HD. *sigh*
But, I have been working on a new park since January and here are a couple recent builds...
A White Castle hamburger shop...
I have been trying to remind myself that resorts are cool, but the little places are important too and not every place has to be a 20,000 sq. ft. "flagsfip", "headquarters" store either.
I don't really have a name for this restaurant yet, I was thinking maybe "The Country Kitchen" or "Colonial Inn" somethin' like that...
The New Fender Bender's..
Home style hamburgers and sundaes in 1950s deco.
And the new Trocadero night club...
Took three nights to put the Troc together.
None of these are completely finished yet and need some roof dressing and probably some more schrubery and a few other things, but the new park is coming along.
Thx

I wonder about that, but I'm kind of leary of getting under the hood of this new sytem.
This one does have a number of sockets for cards that my old system didn't have, maybe I can get with customer support and see what is the easiest way to go about this.
What I'd like to do is put some of my old files somewhere and transfer them to the new system.
I've got six USBs and four other sockets: (1.) Smart media/xD (2.) SD/MMC/RS/Plus/Mobile (3.) Compact Flashi/ii/MD (4.) MS/PRO/Duo/Pro duo.
Anyone familiar with HP Pavillions?
Thx

Laptop or desktop?

Laptop or desktop?
Desktop.
The latest one with 64-bit Windows 7 and a T-drive.
The old HD is a 40G that came out of a 2001 Dell 4100 I bought for $150 and ran for nine years.
I am actually a retired computer tech, but I am still leary of popping open the new HP, lol.
And you know... even if I had the old Miami restored... I don't think I would be spending as much time on it as the new build.
I had about half the park developed, the other half was bare.
Here is a little further back shot of the Troc that is more current.
I added a plainish, modest high-rise so now it is also a resort.
Behind the Troc we have a Macy's department store...
Thx
Here is Micky-D's with the "Small fry maker", that yellow slide and the "tenderizer" next to it. In the game I will add the plastic ball cage too.
Here is the new Benihana...
Thx

Understood. You don't have to pop the top should you desire to get any info from the drive. For about $20 from a place like TigerDirect or one of the others - you can get an adapter that the drive plugs into, and then has a USB cable out. I got one for all my old IDE drives, seeing as how my all SATA system won't even let me plug them into the Mobo. Short story - I got all the data off about a dozen historical IDE drives and was able to also wipe them before returning them for recycling. The device worked great and it's a nice thing to have in your bag of tricks.
