Rct Town has been down for a while, it has never shown improvement.
I hope it is not closed, RCT2 sites are dissapearing left and right, and rcttown seemed to be the only one expanding. I hope it will get back, i really like that site.
It only gives a 403 forbidden error every time I try to visit.

Expansion is not in the cards for most RCT sites as the interest in the game has dropped and leveled out. Not a lot of new users (except maybe RCT3)but there are enough old timers along with the new to keep sites open. But there is not much activity in the community when compared with the heyday a few years ago...

RCTwild,

I am good friends with one of the people who run that site (havingfun) what has happened is the person who pays for the host is mia (Missing In Action). See the site crashed awhile back and when it did no one could reset it but him. So until he shows up the site will be gone.

Indeed! The domain name will expire in May 2011 and we could all lose everything on RCT Town!Posted Image

I've first visited RCT Town in 2006, before I got RCT2.
RCT3 is a bit more 'cartoony' than RCT2. Is it okay if I upload anything from RCT Town to here or anywhere else?

RCT TOWN IS GONE FOREVER, CLOSED OFFICIALLY AND PERMANENTLY!
We were in charge of the site, and when it went down, we tried to contact the owner for a month and after all this time we still have heard nothing from him.
When we got no reply to our messages, we had no choice but to pull the plug.
Personally, I doubt the owner even realizes the site is gone as he barely visited the site when it was up.
Town is gone, there is nothing we can do to bring it back, so it's time for you to move on and become a quality, knowledgeable and frequent member of this site. We've hosted it for 9 years, that's just long enough for the average RCT2 fan. If Six Flags said tomorrow we could visit RCT Town, it still won't be coming back!

REALLY?! If so, it is currently being restored!
My guess is that the cause of the downtime was some sort of MALICIOUS ACT, which was carried out by a forum member who was banned a few years ago.
Here's the message:
This site has been down since 1/25. After 3 1/2 months of downtime It seems the site is back.
I'm sorry to say the staff that helped run this site refuse to help out anymore.
This forum will remain permantly closed until the site owner contacts us.
