Ideas for RollerCoaster Tycoon 4:
3d cars and trains for smoother animation with 3d track, but everything else (Except Ride-interacting scenery) being 2d.
Can make deals with different ride companies (Like Arrow, Vekoma, Intamin, B&M, etc) to get discounts on different rides.
Infinite sandbox with every bit of scenery unlocked and every ride available
A special program that allows you to make additional scenery that will be included.
More real parks (This time around, it’s Cedar Fair parks that are dominating)
Lots of ride recreations of Cedar Fair rides
Less frightening crashes (To be debated)
Track can rust in the rain, and might eventually weather away and cause the ride to crash
Lightning that can strike rides
Track Importer
Most custom flat rides are put in (From RCT2) with better animation (Such as AE’s REAL RIDES)
Customizable Flat Rides (That can be made with the Ride-Maker) (Much like the custom buildings in SimCity 3000)
Special Coaster cars that can be unlocked for Sandbox Mode by completing scenarios (Like Stagecoach cars for the Wooden Coaster, Eel Cars for the Steel Looping Coaster, etc)
5 Levels of difficulty (Newbie, Apprentice, Entrepreneur, Tycoon, Super Tycoon)
UltiCoaster (Pretty much the ultimate roller coaster with the most options available, made by Intamin)
Coasters have the maker name on them when selecting them
Can make 512x512 maps instead of the usual 256x256, allowing for a full scale amusement park (Cedar Point will be this in the Real Parks area)
Can import RCT1 and RCT2 saved games to play and save. =D
Some coasters can have the angle of descent (Up to 100 degrees) and ascent selected for them, which could come in handy in making some of the unique coasters (Like Millenium Force, Maverick, etc)
Some coasters are also able to have the degree of banking selected.
Coaster categorization:
Arrow:
Corkscrew Roller Coaster, Hyper Coaster, Steel Looping Roller Coaster, Mine Train Roller Coaster, Log Flume, Racing Roller Coaster, Chute-the-Chutes, Suspended Roller Coaster, Car Ride, Stand-Up Steel Coaster, Air Blaster Roller Coaster (Pretty much the same as Air Powered Vertical Coaster, only with more elements possibly, such as a blocking system)
Vekoma:
Dual Tower Roller Coaster, Suspended Looping Coaster, Tilt Coaster, Thrill Lift Coaster, Vertical Shuttle Coaster, Inverted Vertical Shuttle Coaster, LSM Launched Roller Coaster, Roller-Soaker, Junior Roller Coaster, Junior Suspended Roller Coaster, Suspended Roller Coaster, Family Inverted Coaster, Family Launched Roller Coaster, Mine Train Roller Coaster, Motorbike RollerCoaster
Intamin:
GigaCoaster, UltiCoaster, LIM Roller Coaster, River Rapids, Inverted Impulse Coaster, Accelerator “Strata” Coaster, Mega Coaster, Wing Rider Launch Coaster, Multi-Looping Roller Coaster, Wooden Roller Coaster, Zac Spin Roller Coaster, Ball Coaster, Twisting Roller Coaster, Family Coaster, AquaTrax Roller Coaster, Super Splash (Not to be confused with Chute-the-Chutes; this is a vertical drop.), Reversing Boat Coaster, First Gen. Drop Coaster (See CP’s Demon Drop), Wild Mouse Ride, Spiral Roller Coaster
B&M:
Steel Twister Roller Coaster, Inverted Roller Coaster, Dizzy Dropper, Vertical Dive Machine, Flying Coaster, HyperCoaster, GigaCoaster, MegaCoaster (All having extremely broad ranges of options),
New elements for the roller coasters:
Air Blaster Roller Coaster: Giant Vertical Loop, Gradual Incline (Pretty much a less sudden incline that can allow for greater speeds and less G’s.)
Bobsled Roller Coaster: Enclosed Track, Overbanked Rise
Mine Train Roller Coaster: Vertical Loop, Artificial Tunnel, Overbanked Rise
Steel Looping Roller Coaster: Giant Vertical Loop, Overbanked Rise
Giga Coaster (Intamin): Overbanked Rise
Multi-Dimensional Roller Coaster: Zero-G Roll, Giant Vertical Loop, Raven Turn
Mini Roller Coaster: Vertical Loop
Suspended Roller Coaster: Banked Curves, Vertical Loop (How? Special Track that doesn’t allow the cars to swing!)
Wooden Roller Coaster (Intamin): Overbanked Rise
Inverted Roller Coaster (All): Overbanked Rise, Zero-G Roll
LIM Launched Roller Coaster: Overbanked Rise, Zero-G Roll
Miniature Railroad: Sidings, crossings.
Other new rides:
Transport Rides: Airplane Travel, Helicopter Ride, Maglev
(Footprint is length x width x clearance)
Gentle Rides: Giant Carousel (5x5x3), Giant Double Decker Carousel (6x6x5), Giant Wheel (4x16x20), Flying Ride (4x4x8) (Has many different ways of constructing it: Airplanes, Elephants (?!), Clouds), Rotating Car Ride (4x4x4) (Has many different ways of constructing it: Trucks, Motorcycles, Sports Cars, Mine Carts, Chariots, Mouse Cars, Rockets, Sleds),
Thrill Rides: Calypso (5x5x5), Troika (4x4x8), Kaos (4x4x8), Super Rotating Car Ride(4x4x4) (Same as rotating car ride, except the cars can be flung to the side for a much wilder experience), Mega Twist (6x6x6), Mega Pirate Ship (10x2x12), Mega Enterprise (8x8x16), Mega Gravitron (6x6x12)
More to come. =)

Why no RCT4? Chris Sawyer will never come back after the horrible events that happened because Atari got the game and killed it. The closest you will get to RCT4 is thrillville...

Basically, my ideas are the same as Clockwork's ideas, but one addition: MAKE IT COMPATIBLE WITH NON-NVIDIA OR NON-ATI VIDEO CARDS!!! (RCT3, Thrillville, talking about them.)

Look, RCT didn't exactly die with RCT3, I enjoy that game a lot. And besides, doesn't have to be a major company that makes the game either that makes the game, heck, it might be the RCTspace Forums community that chips in. But, that's if it happens. No, RCT died with RCT3.

Frontier, who developed RCT3, is doing their own thing with Thrillville, which despite all their protests, is a RCT3 derivative. Frontier and Atari spend more time pointing fingers are each other than treating their customers right. I would NOT want Frontier to do a RCT4 after the mess they made of 3, and their Thrillville is not a theme park sim, it's a collection of mini-games with a little coaster building and being able to (barely) move rides and shops around tossed in.
Sawyer's vision of RCT would not match the vision most players nowdays have for the game. No sandbox, no CS, not much more than trying to beat the scenarios.
A person can 'hope' all they want, I don't see it ever happening. And if the current players in this mess (Frontier/Atari/and even Sawyer) are to be involved I sincerely hope it DOESN'T happen.
