In this version of the board you can be rated by other members, you can add them as friends and you can make comments about them.
Unsurprisingly, other people can do the same with you!
Ratings are by anonymous voting. Who your friends are, and what people have commented about you, are viewable by everybody else.
But you CAN review whether you want somebody to befriend you, and you can decide whether you want to accept or refuse comments made about you.
Do this by clicking on your name (next to "Logged in as:" in the Member Bar) and click the Settings Tab. Part way down there are the options you can see in the screenshot below:

We'll see how this feature goes. If it causes the Staff issues sorting out 'fights' between people, we will have to consider disabling it. So please have fun with it, and use it sensibly.

Yes, I noticed this almost immediatly! I love the new Member layout rcthelp, and I'm probably going to be hanging out here more than ever just for this. Great choice getting the new upgrade for this.

I like this upgrade! Reminds me of the NE forums.

I think NE run v2.2 of the board. We have jumped straight from v2.1 to v2.3, our biggest leap ever.
Coincidentally, we upgraded exactly 1 year to the day since our last upgrade.

Great update! What does version 2.3 better than 2.2?

v2.2 was praised for introducing the Member Rating, Friends and Comments system, new permissions system to allow less global permissions and more per forum and per user group settings, and had a lot of under the covers changes to the code to make it easier to write and maintain modifications.
At the same time, it had a lot of inefficient code which made it a big resource hog on servers. It was for that reason that we decided to wait for v2.3, which is essentially v2.2 with a turbocharger.

Ah, okay. I don't notice any lag with 2.2 though. Maybe dial-up users will thank you.

This board is still great! I think this is my favorite improvement of rctspace.
