OMG! JW'S DOING ANOTHER PROJECT?

Well, I bumbed out on my other project, so I'm starting my new Project!

THE IDEA

It'll consist of three islands, each sporting rivers and falls.

The first island will be the biggest, and it will be in the middle. It will house the main features of the park.

The second will be the architectural highlight. It will be an island village, with houses formed with the cliff faces.

THe third will be the water park, and I need some suggestions for names!

I hopefully won't lose hope in this one, hopefully I'll complete it, putting lag aside!

SCREENS

Pictures will come once I get the main layout done. DON'T BE PUSHY. I'll continue to edit this post with all my pictures and updates, so check back frequently!

So, I wish myself luck! :><:

Hum, why did you start a topic if you don't have pics? Only post in the construction zone when you have pics....

I can't guess of any name of water park, since I don't know the theme of your park... Post pics next time.

Twisted Islands was announced, a list of attractions was presented, then it was killed. All before a single image was made to the topic. I got kinda tired of getting all the Email about it, just for it to die a week later and nothing to show for it.

RCT 3 is going to lag anyway you look at it JW. Even my best parks in 3 lag a bit. It's just the way it is. You might want to cut back on the resolution of the image. It might pick up the pace a bit. Once you get to a point where you want to take screens, crank up the resolution and take the images & movies you want.

When you're done with the screen shots and movies, cut back on the resolution again and start building once more. That's about all I can say. But I can say that no images is definatly boring, no matter how you discribe what you're gonna do.

Actions speak louder than words, and a picture is worth a thousand words.

While we don't have any set rule about it, I have to agree that just posting about an idea without any screenshots at all IS a bit of a waste of time, and it's especially disappointing for people who bother to open the thread only to discover there's nothing here...

Posting here is meant to allow feedback from fellow members and show your progress...both are hard to do when there really isn't anything here to show let alone to discuss! LOL! :P

I know you'll retify this very soon by posting some screens. :wait:

Sorry. I started this topic at 12 in the morning. I woulda kept going but the sugar from the sprite I drank wore off.

I'm still debating if it should be one island or three.

Either way, I'm following Vodhin's tutorial.

I can never get my water falls to work. But, even if I do, I don't like how the body where the waterfall starts is all sqaure, but when I try to smooth it with terrian shaping, it eliminates my body of water and waterfall, and the the body is too shallow to even have water in it!

Halp?

Here it is, the first look at it.

I'm still working on landscaping. Any suggestions?

Don't ask me to do another waterfall. I can't stand doing those things. I always screw up and it takes me forever to make one.

Waterfall shot. Any idea how to smooth that out so it doesn't look all blocky, and without altering the water height?

The first attraction, a flying coaster. I'm still in the process of putting custom supports in. What should I call it?

I'm now in the process of putting in a little food court, so I'll have to take a screen later. I'll be gone for the period of the day, and I should have time to get screens tonight.

How are those pictures?

This actually looks quite good so far. The only thing that really springs to mind is that to my eye the brick work from Old_Spice's planters clashes with the rustic look of the bamboo structures. Maybe something that uses a rock pattern might blend in better?

I know you don't want to mess with the waterfall area after you got a decent-looking falls going. If the flat walls bother you then I'd suggest trying one of the rock sets like composerboy's to mask the sides of the turf. As for the edges of the pond at the top of the waterfall...maybe use a rock wall from either shyguy or Vodin combined with a couple of Marnetmar's rocks to break up the sides a bit...maybe even add a small dock and some plants, that will hid the straight lines quite a bit.

Keep it up, it's looking really good so far.

Thanks wagi.

I was kinda debative about the planter's too. I might take them out and put something else in.

I've also named the flying coaster condor, and I've made a station for it.

I got creative and took a counter from the "make ya own logo shop" shop set, and stuck it by the entrance (Vodhin's ride operators) to make it look like the ride operators control desk. I'll get some screens right now.
