The 1st Annual Super Cell Contest is over and we have a Winner!

At Versicoloured Valleys by Emergo

WOW! This is fast becoming the only word I can utter when I open an “Emergo” park anymore…and that’s IF I can get my mouth to function after I get my jaw up off the floor. Case in point, the very first peep that entered At Versicoloured Valleys stood and looked around and said “Great scenery!”

First and foremost, this park met all the objectives of the Cell Contest! Four cells (areas) include: Red Roof Valley, Blue Bijou, Golden Gorge, and Gray Getaway. Emergo was not afraid to use double wide paths and I commend her for that, because the logistics of this park and the way it was laid out was well done! Emergo is improving on her coasters and it showed in this park; the custom supports were stunning!

Todd Lee helped judge and here is what he had to say:

I've looked over Emergo's entry, and I can't seem to find anything wrong with it. My guess is that if anybody was going to find fault with it, it would have been her.... that write up is amazing! (I dare say we are dealing with a perfectionist here!)

I can’t argue with that assessment! Take the time to read over the walkthrough complete with pictures (included in the zip file) that Emergo wrote and use it as a guide for your stroll in this amazing park! Indeed, I had a very hard time finding any faults with the park.

The entrances to some of the coasters were a little hard to find, even for the peeps; but that didn’t hurt your park rating! The peeps were happy and well fed and of course, thought it was the most beautiful park in the world!

Thank you Emergo and Congratulations on winning the 1st Annual Super Cell Contest!

The architecture is absolutely astounding. I don't think I've seen anyone improve as fast as you have. You came to this site a year after I did, and a year later, you are already twice as good as I am. Truly magnificent, I will be checking this out for sure.

Well, I usually don't say this very often, but.... WOW!
I haven't been impressed anymore since a while now and congratulations: you did it. The architecture is outstanding, but what impresses me more is the natural feeling of the park: it's so elegant.
What suprises me most actually is that gem was made as a contest entry. I normally parks suffer under the limited time: not so here.
I love the red area the most although I must say some small parts reminded me of other rct players (not meant in a negative way, I just noticed).

Congratulations Emergo!

ps I noticed that I was in the park too :)

Awesome park! It's way better than anything I've ever made. Those were some amazing custom supports. Somebody ought to contact Iris and get this park on the list.

I'm very glad that you win, Emergo. It looks that there is so much work spent on it and you make it beautifull. The architecture is very colorfull (like the name of the park). But I see that in some screens, there is no enough foliage (personnaly). But with that limit of time, it very needs to be a winner park and if that park is peep friendly, it's a double Bravo!

Thanks everyone who commented so far, for the enthousiastic and positive comments! :D
(though any other comment is more than welcome too!!)

Must admit that I am rather pleased with the park myself, although it had to be made within the limits of rather "strange/difficult" contest rules and in very limited time, while I am a slow builder!! (Time for the contest was enough I think, but due to RL I could not do much in November/December and had to bet on January for the greatest part )

But, as sometimes it does happen (luckily :D ), the park developed much better and faster than I had anticipated/hoped for, as well concerning the outcomes of the endless testings on the rules as for the archy. (Instead of most things readjusting/doing over and over again some 16 times, in this one I just needed 7 times doing over  ).
I think thanks to the challenging concept, together with the lively discussion in the thread about it (thanks to Coastercrew, Todd and FK, and thanks again to Becky for setting up this one!), it gave me utmost joy to work on this one.

Again, nice to hear you all like the park too!

@postit; already as a child I never got enough of making the scenery for the Marklin train circuit, first for my father's one and later for my own one, maybe that helped? (thanks for such an open/honest compliment!)

@Tyandor:nice you mention the "natural feeling". It is something I would always like to go for, but I find it not so easy to achieve.
As I did not have enough time to do more archy, I had to fill up a lot of parts with trees and landscaping, which, if you don't want to place them by the number, can be as much work as archy I found out. !
And of course you are in the park too! (even when you don't visit very often here now, but I know, we all have real lives too!) When I was brandnew and completely unknown here, you out of the blue made my VP park WW-free for me. (and I "never" forget people who do anything good/friendly to me)

Note: having a large staff in the park, I was able to name them after lots and lots of people here from the site. Please don't be offended if your name is not there: I did the naming of the staff just before the deadline of sending in the park: when I did not know anymore names by head at that moment, I just in a hurry added names of personal friends, though the next day at least 20 more names that I had "forgotten" the evening before came up.

Can only hope everyone who sees/explores he park does have as much fun with it as I had! :D
