Congratulations to OhiOCoasteRFreaK36 - March 2004 VP 2nd Runner-Up

Lost Rivers review by rwadams

Architecture -The architecture of the park was basically solid. The buildings were detailed and fit the theme. I little bit 2x2 (shades of RCT1) but not overly so.

Coaster Design -Overall well designed and fun to watch.
Colossus- My favorite coaster, Very compact and looked like it would be fun to ride.
Phoenix-A little slow through some of the elements but a quality coaster.
Steel Thunder-I liked the layout but a 17 mph barrel roll and a 40mph S bend would make it uncomfortable to ride.

Landscaping - A nice mix of land and water. The rivers flow through the park nicely and end in a large waterfall that is done well. The land colors are a nice mix also.

Originality/Creativity -This is where I thought the park was lacking. Since the release of ROB (NE Spotlight), there has been an explosion of this type of theme. Although well done, not an original theme.

Park Layout - The paths flowed nicely and interacted with the architecture and landscaping well. A couple of dead ends that might want to be avoided in the future.

Theming - The theming was the best part of the park. Well planned and detailed, and very consistent throughout the park. A little over done with the Arizona Cypress but very well executed.

Overall - This was my pick (of the parks entered) for VP this month. I thought it was a quality park. If I had to rate it I would say 8.5/10.

This was my pick (of the parks entered) for VP this month.

Do you honestly think this was better than Scarborough??
I thought it was lacking on amount... the park was too small imho... there were just a couple of buildings, and a couple of coasters... it would be 'fun' for a monthly contest but not as vp imo... no offense..
I can see you took this park to become better at parkmaking ocf, and I can see you are improving, but next time try to create a larger scale park (150x150?), and try to create (different themed) areas, if I can advise you...

^ What is wrong with having a small park? It doesn't say in the rules that VP's have to be mega-parks. Why do you think parks have to be multi-themed in order to be good? No offense... :)

Wow...i actually won something  Cool! :woot:

Thanks for the great review Rwadams.
I dont think a small park is a bad park the size doesnt matter really it is how well you use the space inside the park. Dont worry Six Frags Edisto River is bigger and has more themes.

Large parks take A LOT more skill and time/effort to complete... and the result would be much more fun to look at...
Sure, everyone can create a little 50x50 park and make it look beautiful... it can help to make you get better at the game, but you can't expect a mini park to win VP...
Like I said, it would do well in a monthly contest...

edit; looking forward to it then, ocf ;)

serious parkmaking... that sounds very creepy in a kind of way...
What is VERY important, is that you keep getting fun of making parks...
Don't let my comment ruin that... and if you keep building mini parks... that's GREAT!
Only thing is, like I've said, you can't expect it to VP...
Keep having fun building!
