I probably won't get any help from this after my outburst at NE, but oh well. Finally nearly finished up the first building on the Royal Victorian:

I'm actually pretty proud of this, but think whatever you want. Criticism (on the screen) is appreciated, but not necessary.

That's looking GREAT. One thing though: I really don't like the very top of the victorian, I think you can do it so much better than what you have. The whole bottom part of the building really looks awesome, and then you have the.. thing.. that's above the glass roof and I feel that really kills the building.

Sorry, Luketh. I actually really like what I did with the top, so it's gonna stay. Unless I can find some diagonal glass roof pieces.

'Kay, if you like it.. keep it. I was just pointing out what I disliked to say "hey, see if something else would work". If you think it's good enough then it'll have to be good enough, I can't do a whole lot about it.

I've been told to not build for the community, and I appreciate the feedback, but I don't understand why it doesn't look right to you. The inspiration comes almost directly from the Grand Floridian main building. No need to bring your attitude towards me at NE over here too.

^I didn't see any attitude from Luketh. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and are entitled to and are recommended to give constructive critisism, which is what he gave.

There's a huge difference between "building for the community" and taking the communities suggestions into account. I agree with Luketh that the top part of the Victorian just doesn't look right but, if that's the way you want it to stay, that's the way you want it to stay. I'd also suggest re coloring the lattice windows on the walls to maybe white. The ones that you missed coloring blue (the gray ones) look much better than the blue. Try coloring the lattice part white and experiment with maybe either the peach color or gold for the trim part. It will add some variation and contrast to the entire structure.

And dude.....just a suggestion, but if you want others to not carry anything over from elsewhere.....you might want to follow your own advice. And try not to be so damn defensive all the time or you'll find that you'll be getting zero replies in your topics.

I've tried both K0NG. SSSammy at NE suggested I change the white windows to aqua, but I didn't like that, so I changed them to blue. Maybe another color would work better? I feel like the blue was a nice way to tie in the blue of the awnings. I will try to be open to any suggestions.

No need to bring your attitude towards me at NE over here too.

People have already made up their minds about you, (and for that matter, practically anyone.) And there's darned little you can do to change that. Believe me, it's like swimming against a strong current. No place to go but downstream. Been there myself. So if they happen to hate you at NE, then it stands to reason that they'll probably hate you here too. Bottom line... You cannot control people or their emotions. Like I said, you're swimming against a strong current. Might as well relax and go with the flow. If you relax about it, then people might take a better attitude towards you. Complaining never helps. You just get labled as a troublemaker or too sensitive. Appreciate the good stuff and try to ignore the BS. You'll have a better time.

Ok enough on the attitude of members now. This topic is about Terrapin's project so let's try to keep it that way, thanks.
