Something that I do when designing a coaster......and my coasters typically come out quite nice (Ie; aesthetically pleasing/good ratings)........is to visualize yourself riding it as you build. I actually sit here in my chair and physically twist my body proportionately to the turns and lifts to get a feel for how the design flows. It may sound odd to do this but, I've found that if I do this as I build, the coaster almost always has a good flow to it and needs very little altering after the first test run.
When you do this after designing a certain part of the ride, you'll minimize the 'painful' parts (say, a large loop leading immediately into a tight banked turn) because you've sort of physically experienced it already.

hmmmm ... very nice. Like the park. Coasters are very good.
EDIT: Your archy is very good. I wish I could do archy like that. (and at one point, I might!)
