Sorry, but what are trainers and where would I go to turn them on/off?

If you have to ask - then you are not running them. Don't worry about them.

So... You have screen freezing (including cursor) yet the audio continues? Does the keyboard lock up as well?

Yes, everything locks up, however audio continues. There is no way out but to restart the computer. I have noticed however, that it doesn't freeze on the menu and only during gameplay. Also, I tried it on another laptop which wasn't originally W7, but later upgraded, and it worked fine. I'm not sure what that could possibly mean, but I thought it was interesting.

For an experiment - Try running it in windows 2000 or earlier compatibility mode.

What type of video card are you using? What version are the drivers on it?

It may be something as simple as that.

I'm running Win7 Ultimate 64 and don't have any problems.

I have tried Windows 98 / ME and that did not work. However, I will try this.

I'm running Win7 Premium 64, but I do not know how to check the two others.

The video is native to the laptop so likely the drivers would come from the manufacturer's site...or the Windows site. Try both.

It's funny that laptops that come with W7 have this problem more often than desktops that come with W7. It might be a driver issue.

To check, in the start menu, type "Device Manager". This should find a result in the Control Panel section of results, open that program.

It'll bring up a bunch of information about your computer's hardware. Click the little arrow next to Display Adapters, and you should see your GPU chipset (Should be something that starts with ATI or nVidia probably). That's the first set of info I asked about. To get the second thing (Drivers), double click on your video card. Click on the Driver tab, and post what it says the version number is.

Now when I go to my device manager, should it show the 2141 version? Because it doesn't. How would I get it to replace the older version?
