Lol, well, opinions differ...
It was a good park, but a few things kept it from amazing imo..
I mean, where are the shops & services?? That's a big no-no in my book, even more if you're going for realism (looking at the parking lots, grassy areas etc.).. I also think the (missing) employees at places are a let down..
I also noticed some glitches on 'Dragon Fly'...
It has its nice spots, like the almost xophe-like hotel, and the colorful area...
Good runner-up though

That's why it didn't really amaze me... Looked too rushed in places...
But it can be just me though...

I realize this is very late to react to this park. Sorry, I'm quite a new member and have my hands full to see (and sometimes react) to all the things I see and learn here.
I think this is a really very good park!! I enjoyed it lot.
But in the reactions there are things I absolutely don't understand:
Sorry the 'quote' does not work. So I'll spell it out:

Reaction from Sixfrags on november 29 2004:

" Well, opinions differ......
It was a good park, but some things kept it from amazing imo...,
I mean, where are the shops & services?? That's a big no-no in my book, even more if you're going for realism(looking at .... etc)"

It will certainly be because I am a newcomer, but I really don't understand how these kind of reactions work. I love the things Sixfrags has created and I admire his productivity and creativity, I gratefully mentioned him and Tyandor because their entrance from their great 'Hollandsche Glorie' was so inspiring for me, but here, Sixfrags, you say that you mind it so much that there are not enough shops? Do I understand that right? How can you say that????? In 'Hollandsche Glorie" there is not any shop at all !! and peeps can not even come in. And still it was a park that was going for (recreation-)realism? And still it was an ultimately nice park. So what's the use of mentioning the lack of shops for this park here and judging that therefore it was not amazing? With all your great works and succes I cannot believe that you are saying this just out of jaelousy, but I don't get the use/righteousness of it either!
May be this is not the right place to discuss this, sorry. But it amazes me so much!

I've fixed the 'quote' for you-SF

Well, Hollandsche Glorie is not really a 'Six Frags' park (if you know what I mean)...Hollandsche Glorie was the ONLY park I made (ok, half of Santaville too) that was semi-realistic... It's more of a tribute to Holland with almost all buildings recreated (from photo's or the likes), and it's goal was to create a typical Holland-like atmosphere.. I started it with Angel a loooong time ago, but then he quited our club RCTI 'cos of time issues, and Ty jumped in to help me out with this park... I agree it lacked shops and a couple could've been incorporated, but then again, it didn't win VP :P

If you study my work, you'll see I always pay attention to these little touches... And I think they are important, and put some extra quality to your park... Not 'just another park, that was rushed out to get something finished'...

Oh, and I was not jealous at all, I was just pointing out to Richie I didn't agree with him and why... I honoustly don't care how much I win or don't win, as long as I enjoy building parks and enjoy looking at them...

But, I'm glad to see you like my work though :D

To Sixfrags:
Thanks for the extensive answer. You actually are right: I was comparing too much with only 'Hollandsche Glorie". Ran some of your many other nice works ('real Sixfrags parks') and there indeed you pay attention to all mentioned extra's and little details. :D So now I can place your remarks very well .
When I was a brandnew member a few weeks ago (even newer than now, if that't possible  ) I already started a topic somewhere about my being so utterly amazed that many prize-winning parks did not allow peeps in, or let peeps being stucked, or had no/hardly any shops and staff. I learned that this seemed to have hardly any influence at all on how the park is judged, one judge may find an extra, another does not care for it all. I just accepted that as one of the rules of the game.
Btw: thanks for fixing the quote.

To Louis: you already said somewhere it was rushed in places and I still think it a very beautiful park with great architecture. :D
