Ok, so I'm working on a megapark with the flat workbench, and it's still in the beginning sections (#2 out of some 20 sections), and I was just wondering, do peeps know how to use transport rides to their advantage?

I'm trying to make monorails that circle (square?) the park so guests can go to where they want without walking a long way. But, if I set up a monorail, let's say from

North (of the park)
|----some roller coaster
|
|
| HUGE, VERY LONG WAY, ACROSS THE MAP
|
|
South (park entrance)

and the guests enter the park, and want to go to the "some roller coaster" on the other side of the park. Would they know to get on the monorail and go to the other side? I tried building an underground monorail with stations on the N, W, S, E parts of the map, and the rating obviously came out extremely low (under 1 for each rating). Despite the low ratings, would the peeps ride it to get to the other side? or am I wanting the peepe to be way too intelligent?

I find that peeps don't ride transport rides for their intended purpose.

They do that intelligently in RCT3, but in RCT1&2 the transport rides are just another ride. They get on and get off at the next station. They don't have much ability to think across a park anyway. They mostly stumble upon rides.

Hmm, then is there any way to build more than one park entrances? maybe 1 at each side? Is there a specific trainer for that? I swore not to use trainers, but... meh. If I use the trainer will it cause the file to be "corrupt" or w/e?

I have noticed in scenerio editor you can use up to 4 enterances. I don't know if they can be seperated throughout the park or not. I know that you can use at least 2 of them for the begining of the park. Haven't tried in the middle or any where else yet. Theres something to try HMMMMM!!! it just might work....

I notice that peeps tend to rush for transport rides when it's raining. And as for monorails going underground, you'll get better excitement ratings if you have them above ground, reasonably high so the peeps get a good view.

But as Sambo says, the peeps aren't intelligent enough to know that a transport ride might save their legs walking!

Ahh, well, I did try that, but it looks like that you end up getting a SV4 with the "invalid data error" or w/e error. Or maybe I'm just using it wrong. Is there any program that will increase the number of entrances without messing up the file...?

You *have* got the Drexler patch installed haven't you? If you don't RCT1 *knows* if you've been using trainers/editors and refuses to load the Sv4 files. The Drexler patch removes this limitation.

Part of the problem with multiple entrances - and I can only vouch for RCT2 as I haven't investigated it in RCT1 - is that peeps somehow remember where their entrance is. I have observed them go to the nearest exit to leave, and then can't because it is not theirs. The get lost and tired, and "can't find the exit".

Placing two entrances next to each other isn't such a problem because the peeps can find "their" exit when going to the exits because of the closeness. I tried a 255 x 255 park with an entrance on each of the four sides, and a big lake in the middle. The path system was a rectangle connecting the entrances. This test park had the highest lost, tired, and "can't find the exit" number of peeps I have ever seen. They would go half-way around the park, spending all their money, and try to leave. The nearest exit - not being theirs - they could find, but not "find" to leave.

Totally weird...
