No bench can be perfect. Each one has its fair share of flaws, even the geewhzz bench.

This however, was done in such a clever way, it actually made the contest harder. There is no "hard" bench to use, benches only vary in the amount, type and theme of the objects. When you want to build something but it uses an object that isn't available in the bench, you resort to the existing objects to build it. This forces you to "get creative" and over time, improves your RCT skills. This applies even more in LL. There is no custom scenery. You have to resort to using rides as scenery.

My advice: Get creative. :)

Any flaws is strictly the opinion of those who use a given bench.

Because the flaws are the opinion based on the abilities and tastes of the individual. For instance, let's imagine someone assembled a bench after several days or weeks, and he shows it to one of his friends. But the friend doesn't think much of it, because the bench doesn't have a certain coaster, or a certain tab of blocks or it may totally lack a supports tab.

But then the guy who MADE the bench knows what he wants to do with each and every object... so he really likes the bench. So it's all a matter of opinion. The ultimate bench can never be created. The expectations of the individual is so wide and varied, that it makes the creation of the ultimate bench that appeals to everyone unanimously, is an impossibility.

Since participation is so low - there may not be a Road Rally next year.

Ok people.....I waited a couple of days to see how many responses this would get.
Did you all just miss this comment or is it that nobody cares? If it's the former, I'd suggest you start yapping about it or there will be no more Road Rallies. If it's the latter....well, I guess I can't blame Sambo for getting rid of it.

Good call K0NG.

But a Road Rally needs more than just yapping about it - it needs people who enter...

Yeah....what I meant by "yapping about it" was maybe commenting or making some suggestions regarding what they like or dislike about the RR's. We could take that into consideration and maybe make some alterations (which is part of what I wanted to discuss with you) so that more people would enter and get the RR's hopping again. ;)

Having no road rallys would make this site even less active. Road Rallys are the only thing that is barely keeping this site alive, and it will become dead if there are no rr's. I think that this site will have more activity if there was actually more contests and stuff, and a place to release your parks here in the downloads section, not the forums.

Wow, I totally missed the comment about no RR's next year.

I think instead of making it a "challenge", you should make the benches buildable... I think the "challenge" scared away quite a few people from entering this part of the RR... like me. If you want people to enter, worry less about making the BENCH challenging, and more about making the people who go up against you challenging.

That's just what I think, though..

Your logic is flawed. Road Rallys cannot be keeping this site alive as no one enters, No one enters - there are no Road Rallys - Having Rallys that no one enters couldn't possibly keep the site alive.

And how could anyone here make the people who go up against you more challenging? We can't make people even enter let alone make them more challenging. If the benches are no challenge - there isn't a need to win as the competition is no challenge.

The bigger point is that even when the bench wasn't a challenge, people still don't enter. The problem isn't the benches as much as no one has the time or desire to compete.

Well the bench itself has already scared away 2 people, Me, and Jusmith:

Well, I was going to enter this leg after seeing the country, but then my God I saw the bench. :(

Are we trying to force people to use terrible custom scenery that seemingly "represents" Peru. It may be interesting to see what people build with this, but honestly I'd rather see a ncso round again than this. I know it is supposed to be "challenging" but it would be nice to have at least the potential for quality parks to come out of this contest, but this bench seems to hinder that, maybe.

I don't know, someone build on it and prove me wrong.....

Yeah, if you're trying to get more participants, try making the bench a little more buildable is pretty much what I was trying to say.

I dunno, but that's just what I think...
