I thought I'd download and play Octagon Park in RCT2. It wasn't there, and not at RCTTown either.

So I sat down and it's here now. :saint: I decided to give it some attitude compared with the original. You needs loads of money to achieve the objectives of 10 exciting BIG coasters. So I made it harder to get money, and the interest rate on loans is enormous.

Have Fun! It's at http://www.rct2.com/...ion=file&id=162

Thanks for these. I am a scenario player--I just don't have the creative talent to build a park from my imagination.

I lost all my collection--had over 200 scenarios--when my computer did the crash thing. Now I am slowly having to build them back up.

Wait...what's this???

What ever happened to dakinle? I've downloaded almost all his remakes, but where has he gone? I really want to see how his remakes are doing elsewhere, because I sure want to see Giggle Downs, Mineral Park, Coaster Crazy, Urban Park, and Geoffery Gardens remade. And I guess all the Loopy Landscapes secenarios, too. ;)

Yeah, I hope dakinle will return on here as I found most of his RCT1 to RCT2 conversions very similar to the original ones. Maybe he's busy working on them, then again he hasn't posted on this site for over a year so maybe he's forgotten about it. I'm sure someone will finish converting the RCT1 scenarios, as many people would like to play the RCT1 scenarios on RCT2 (like me). Lets just all wait and see what happens about this.

We welcome anybody who wants to recreate any of the RCT1 scenarios for RCT2.

Loading the landscape (from an RCT1 saved game) is easy in the RCT2 scenario editor, and reproducing the invention list is easy too if you use my old site at http://website.lineo...rchFrameSet.htm . The difficult part is then getting the corect number of guests, park ratig, litter/damage, etc.

If you do a recreation, and we think it's good enough, we'll host it. Try and add some RCT2 specific inventions that 'fit' with the scenario, just to make it a bit different.

Wait, wait, wait... how DO I load an original RCT landscape? I tried doing it by copying the secenrio to the secenarios, then saving it from there...oh what the heck, I'll just have to copy it to the landscapes, and wait and see. :wait:

Welcome to the forums, RCT Secenario Lover!
You can open any RCT1 scenario in the scenario editor, but......than it has no rides and of course not the amount of peeps that are already in some parks in the scenarios! Dakinle did do a lot of the RCT1 scenarios, but not all of them. I don't think he is active right now. I've seen him around only a few times in the last year or so. So, like RCT help said, if you'll find a way to convert some more it sure would be welcomed!

:><: Never mind, I'm totally stuck now. Could anyone tell me how to load an RCT secenarios' landscape to RCT2?

Edit: Never Mind. See the newest non-pinned topic, and you'll see.

Does anybody have copies (or links) to the scenario remakes that Atari published?

They began their own recreations of scenarios and posted them on the RCT2 website. I seem to remember they gave up after about 5 or 6.

The scenario remakes were fun, but were quite time consuming. And the added difficulty was that the engine for RCT2 was different in terms of peep production and money accumulation so it was really hard to make an accurate updated goal. The other thing I "discovered" (and I REALLY hate to admit this) is that I just didn't enjoy RCT2 all that much after a while. I felt the game was very rushed and for whatever reason, IMHO, just not all that enjoyable and that if I wanted to play the scenarios, RCT1 still held that magic that RCT2 lacked. I had more fun doing the scenario conversions I did get done than I ever had actually playing RCT2. I just got burned out on the scenario remakes (not to mention got some very discouraging posts and emails) so I just moved on. Sorry I never got any more of these finished.

And RCT Scenario Lover - to answer your question from many years ago... [rolls eyes at self] the way I got the paths littered in that scenario was I just let the game run the incomplete scenario for several game years with no maintenance people and let the litter accumulate, and then went back and reset the initial scenario stats.

PS - the scenario remake tutorial is posted in the other pinned thread if anyone ever wanted to try and make some more. Yes, I do realize it is 2010...

PPS OMG I had no idea I had actually completed 48 of these! (I just counted them in the other thread - I did complete the Millenium Mines one but it isn't on the site for some odd reason, and I also did the Alton Towers one - that was a task indeed). FORTY EIGHT!!! I take back my apology above LOL :P
