So we decided to start our tour of Disney's America by riding the American and Western train around the entire park. We figured it would give us a nice "lay of the lands", and we would get a nice overview of the whole park.
The Main Station for the A&W RR, just inside the park entrance;
The station is pretty crowded. I guess a lot of other people had the same idea as us! My son pointed out the Lion and Unicorn on the Customs Building. They look pretty cool, and add a real Colonial feel to the entrance. Very nice touch by the Disney Imagineers. We'll check out the building after the railroad;
The trains run on a tight schedule, so we didn't have too long a wait;
And off we go!
More to come!

Well, I haven't been here in over a year, but I thought you guys might like to know that I am still working on this park.
Here's a mega update starting with a return visit right at the entrance square;
So now, back in character!
Our first day at Disney's America left us wanting more and more and more! So waking up bright and early this morning, we set off for the park. Thankfully, Haymarket is only about a ten minute drive!
It was still the soft opening for VIPs and press, so the place wasn't too crowded, but you would never know it from the looks of the parking lot!
The Omnibuses were running today, finally! They are a nice alternative to riding the trams!
This morning, I got a chance to take a couple of pictures of the tram station. It's beautiful, and you would not believe how many buses and trams go flying through this place! That's it, up ahead on the right;
It looks empty, but that's only because a huge crowd just unloaded!
Each platform is clearly labeled for it's parking lot destination. Mickey, Donald, Minnie, etc. It sure makes finding your way around pretty easy!
A quick look back at the hub as we move on toward the front gate!
Welcome back to Disney's America!
We made our way past the Tram station and toward the main gates. Yesterday, we were in such a hurry to storm through the turnstiles, we didn't even pause for breath!
The central square of the entrance is dominated by a replica of the Statue of Liberty flanked by some cannon. She's just breathtaking!
There are two gates flanking the square that lead into the park itself;
Just inside the gates are two matching buildings, the Welcome Center and Guest Services;
We had a cast member grab our picture in front of the gate!
Looking forward to today's adventure!
We took another shot of the Statue of Liberty:
Then we decided to head into Guest Services;
The place is pretty empty, but there is everything for the intrepid theme park guest!
Next stop: Let's wait and see!
