That's a matter of opinion. It doesn't matter who you ask. everyone will find something wrong with it, because they expect different things out of it. People have their favorites, or expect to find an assortment of a particular object. Instead of just one or two. A bench development simply cannot be everything for everybody. We're just too spoiled by a bench that can be so customizeable, that any bench that is presented, won't measure up to everyone's expectations.

It's just fine, Louis. At first I kinda agreed with Nokia about the lack of glass but, after doing a bit of research on New Zealand....I realized that there wasn't really much need for it. The only complaint I've ever had was the water objects and, that's just because I think any 'destination' can make good use of a nice fountain or some falls. etc. People need to realize that as you're putting these benches together, you've already done the research on the particular location and have a good idea of what you expect to see, theming wise, and provide what's necessary to accomplish just that. If you take the time to actually go through the contents of the bench, you'll get a fairly good idea of what the creator had in mind while assembling the objects. Naturally, people do have certain objects or 'sets' that they are fond of but, that's not what this contest is about....it's about taking what the bench creator has provided (which is typically spot-on for the particular theme) and replicating the 'destination' to the best of your abilites. Add the fact that the bench creator is a pretty damn good builder (who'd better duo up with me sometime after H2H5 is finished)that knows how to theme and realize that pretty much everything in the benches is there for a reason.

^Haha. Thanks. That's what I meant when I said How's the bench? Does it do New Zealand justice, as the complaints from previous benches have been along those lines.

Oh and K_W you will be pleasantly suprised that I now realise about water objects :P I am starting to use them myself :P And a team-up is a definate must.

Well, I think someone had last round (Hong K0NG) confused with Japan. The Japanese are more known for their botanical gardens whereas Hong K0NG is more of a bustling metropolis.

Get hung up on yourself lately?
Sounds like you've been hanging around
NE too much.
:puke:

JK!

If I recall correctly, K_W did indeed design a cityscape along side a larger garden landscape, for his Hong Kong entry. In fact, upon closer inspection, it seems that approximately 2/3rds of the park is dedicated to a park-like garden landscape...

while the rest was a cityscape devoted to just one ride. At least I themed the entire landscape. Even had a couple attractions on the water. I simply love the fact that you can take whacks at other people's work. So let's take a few at K_W's just to even the playing field.

While my park was fully themed, K_W decided that he can't be bothered to theme out the corners of his parks. Opting to flood the place and make a token island, (a half-island if that,) with a few trees. As something akin to a artificial flower arrangement, found on a side table of my mother's living room. I can only assume that the pirate stranded on the island is supposed to be me, right? Oh, Har-Dee-Har-Har! A bit off-theme if you ask me... (Little does he realize that inside the building... is a casino, dancing girls, tequila, and all the cheese nachos I can eat.)

:P

So the "it's obvious what was intended for the bench" quip isn't quite true as I see it. Mostly because you were just as lost and dumbfounded about the bench contents as anyone else. The only difference? I spoke up about it. As far as the park design? It speaks for itself. There's a city, yes. But not much of one. Which tells me that you really weren't quite sure about the theme yourself.

Admit tingly, it was a good idea in adding a small city themed attraction was your saving grace in this road rally. Which may be the only reason why you won. So don't think you're so special about finally realizing what a bench that was presented two months ago, was "all about". Took long enough to sink in, eh?

But at least I chose a theme, and stuck to it. Right or wrong. I stuck to what I planned to do. On the other hand, it was clear that you couldn't make up your mind. So you did it both ways. Better safe than sorry. And it worked. And that's really all that matters. I said it before and I'll say it again, in all seriousness. Congratulations on your win. You deserved it. But I say you only won by the narrowest of margins. And those hacks were awsome I might add. I really like them. And that's probably why the park sits on my desktop.

Honestly? You should of gone with a full blown cityscape, K_W. Because you're good at that sort of thing. Besides you kind of knew what I was going for, because it was so freaking obvious... I had only mentioned the lack of gardens & fountains. Plus it's sort of the kind of park I usually design anyway. Straight-forward, no extra hacks just because... So my past track record could of played a big roll for you here. Incidentally, a full cityscape entry would of exhibited the confidence you stated about the obvious intentions of the bench. So please pardon me when I say that I don't believe you for a minute, in THAT respect.

Now, now - you two play nice.

Staff knows you two love to spar and it's harmless, but it may not look the same to members who don't know you two like we do. Please keep that in mind.

I may give this a go. Is RCTModified allowed, though?
