thanks for the day becky. it's a relief not having to check everyday(though i may still)

and coastercrew i did finish my park for the most part. the park was finished but i had to take out on cell and turn it into a sea. but the cells look to my liking so im happy.

by the way becky when you say you have three finshed parks is that only three were sent in...or only three of the sent in ones qualified as complet.(im hoping mine is one of the three)

Well, FK+coastermind, congrats on at least finishing it and sending it in. I truely know how much work was involved.

I hope your sea still integrated into your park OK.

Did you ever get any numbers on your peep-thoughput?

How many cells did you go for? Were you crazy like me and go for more than the minimum?

my park had 6 cells in the end. i had seven but because of time...kaput.
the reason for the sea was because the neighboring cell had a water theme with an overwater city. my peeps never made it very far because the coasters were pretty extreme for them. one of my cells is techniaclly void due to an unexpected boost in exciment causing it to rise above the next cell. that was due to last minute tree placement.

hey costercrew did you get a park sent in. im wasnt sure whether you did or didnt?

Yes, I finish for the most part. There were a few more touch ups I wanted to do, but I was kinda getting tired.

I was too focused on getting more peeps on Sunkin Treasure and Gold Rush. These were my top coasters and it was kinda depressing for me not to see more peeps riding them. At one point I had like 40+ peeps an hour riding them, but then around year 10 or 11, peeps started getting stuck in Cell 5 crying to go home. When I fixed that, then less peeps were making it to those coasters. So toward the end I changed some of my underground 'trick' paths to get ridership up again, but never quite got up to 10 years again. I did get over 2800 peeps in the park by year 7 1/2 though, which was my highest yet.

This was my first time creating scenery and I kinda started out slow. I did get a few nice touches in; not quite the VP or Road Rally quality, but not bad either.

Yes, the biggest challenge for me (not counting the archy of course), was getting my coaster stats right. I didn't have a problem with stats increasing very much with the addition of scenery because my designs were pushing the limit already, so scenery didn't affect the stats very much at all.

My strategy with my 7 cells was to build the first three with medium intensity and medium nauseating. The 4th and 5th cells had coasters with high intensity and medium nauseating and the last two were high on both. My highest intensity was only 7.84 and nauseating 6.24 which helped get peeps ridership up.

My coaster excitement ratings were awesome; wait to you see them. :woot:

I needed something to balance out my lack of good archy. B)

This weekend I 'opened up' my cell park, that is, converted it to a non-cell park. After just 2 years I had over 1600 peeps and my top 2 coasters were full  It was awesome just staring at the coasters going around with all those peeps screaming wishing I could just melt into the game.

I also got to play around with invisible track (didn't use it in the submitted version). I have a go karts right in the front of my park that is a really cool design, so I converted it to invisible and changed the land tile at the station platform to black and white checkers, like at a race track. It looked so much better. I also had a boat hire that had the exit at the other side of the lake and I made the track invisible. I wish I had known these tricks earlier. Oh well. Good luck.

Emergo,

Well, the time is almost here..... announcement of the winner! Being that the judges needed an extra week tells me that maybe FK+coastermind or I might have a chance at this one.

I've actually already WON! Got my cake and icing; it might not have candles on top, but that doesn't much matter. I'm really satisfied with how my park turned out and that's the most important part (could have used a tad bit more time to perfect it though). Sometimes you need to get away for a short break, then it makes it easier to sees what needs to be improved.

As I said in another post, it was a real honor and pleasure for me to compete with you and learn from you in this contest. I had so much FUN and it helped me formulate some great ideas for a new contest.

Anyway, good luck. I can't wait to see and investigate your park and FK's.

p.s. Make sure you ride the Gold Rush before everyone figures out where it is! :woot:

....Or should I say,"How to get to it"!
