Thanks Trev, at least one person looked at it

Rog ;)

I'm still looking at it Rog. No constructive comments yet. Don't want to sound like a cheerleader and say " wow RE, that's really good!" with out specifying why...

I do like the detail work though...

Roger, I've finally gotten a proper chance to look at the park in full, so brace yourself, here we go:

Architecture:

This was very very good considering the 2 setbacks you had. Little custom scenery (due to starting the park so early) and little choice on variation (to stick with the forest theme throughout a whole 256x256) and you worked very well with it. The best display of architecture in the park in my opinion was near the entrance area. It was detailed, had some great balconies which looked very realistic, and it fitted in very well without getting at all repetative.
Also, I absolutely loved the Tunnel Mill Inn. I think the one thing that made this so special was the beautiful porch type thing you had around it with benches and a look over the river/lake. It actually added a wonderful atomosphere to an already great building. So big props for that
In some areas, the architecture wasn't quite as good as the rest, but obviously, that is always to be expected in such a large park, so no complaints here.

Coasters:

The best coaster by far in my opinion was Doubler, the b&m stand up twister. I fell in love with the double loops over the steel roof of an old building. It was a beautiful site. The coaster was timed well and the colours were great.
A coaster that i was not so fond of however, was the Mud Dauber. I didn't enjoy the layout at all. 2 loops and a braked barrel roll. Lots of helix's. I guess it all goes down to a matter of opinion, but i really didn't like it i'm afraid.
The Hornet and the Wasp were enjoyable rides that looked great, as were most of the other coasters.
I wasn't quite sure why one of the half corkscrews on the Tunnel Mill Twister was lime green when the rest of it was forest green, but a minor point, i guess you have a reason.
The best thing about your coasters was probably the custom supports. You used innovative ideas to make them fit in with the wooden feel. But you didn't just use the wooden supports, you combined them with steel diagonal supports and wall pieces and it worked very well
However, to make your coaster more interesting and variated, I suggest that in the future, you make them interact with the path more. This will improve the excitement and make them look more impressive.
One more thing about coasters. With your regular sit-down coasters, i suggest that you don't make them right on the ground. This means that they have no supports and it looks like the coaster is simply resting on the ground which doesn't look good, nor realistic. I noticed you did it with many of your coasters, especially the wasp.
However, on the whole, your coaster layouts and supports were very good and original.

Theming:

You chose a hard theme to work with throughout a 256x256 park, but you worked with it well. There was some nice use of barrels and general mine theming, but most of your theming was in the form of treed areas, which is good. However, some areas were a bit over the top. Especially around the Hornet. There wasn't much theming, and the ride just went around a vast amount of trees. I know that it is the theme of the park, but some of the areas could have had something other than trees. That's where my suggestion of path interaction would really help.
But the theming was very nice for the forest theme you chose, and it worked well.

Landscaping:

I very much liked the network of rivers you had going through the park.
The best display of landscaping was near the whitewater rapids ride. It worked well and the rapids had a great look, one of the best rides in the park.
Some areas could have done with more landscaping, especially the heavily treed areas to make them look more interesting

Other points:

I love Lee's Cove Water park. Very nice indeed, great flumes, wonerful queue lines and most of all, the sections where the guests would come out looked great
The flat rides were good, but some were a bit too hidden and I didn't notice them until i clicked on your ride list. But i don't think it is a major problem. They were nicely themed on the most part

Overall:

Looking over my mini-review, i realise that is sounds kinda negative. But really, it isn't, it is a very good park, with some really great ideas, wonderful architecture, excellent theming and interesting coasters. But I've focused more on giving you suggestions.

Keep up the great work, I look forward to seeing more from you in the future.

Hi Rog,

I waited to look at your park for a number of reasons as I didn't want the initial comments to sway my opinion (not that it would but it sounded like a good reason to me).

I think this is the first time I've had the pleasure to see your completed work and I was not let down. There are several areas that brought a smile to my face as I looked at it.

Your water park was fantastic. I never thought about using the wood base blocks for the path elements and it added to the feel of the area. The layout and little extra features really made this area shine.

The architecture I though was exceptional. Not big or small but just enough detail to make them stand out. What makes it even better is you pulled this off with very little custom objects.

The general layout of the park again was pulled off well. Getting around the park would be easy and enjoyable.

Now for the few points that I think could have taken this to the next level.

Trees - I don’t have a big problem with the use of trees but as others have said, I think it was just a bit over treed in some areas.

Land surface - There were some areas where you had mowed grass in the middle of a heavy treed areas. I would have changed the land surface to dirt or grass/dirt in these areas. It would add a bit more realism IMO.

Coaster Supports - Really the last thing that didn't sit well with me. There were just too much custom supports used on this park. I think some of the rides lost its layout appearance due to overuse of the trusses. I know it's hard to come up with something unique but not all coasters need the custom supports. I would like to add that there were some very interesting supports used but some just seemed overdone.

Overall - This was a great park Rog. Completing a 256er is a task that I will not try again. It's just too big and there are too many new things being added.

This is one park that will stay in my collection as there are several ideas I may draw upon in the near future.

Again, excellent work Rog.

Roger...you should release this at the Station and NE, then you'd get more feedback.

I thought that would be a good idea but it was just a waste of time. Metro and NW, thanks for the feedback, it's always appreciated. Guess I'll just stick to Masters projects and forget about the solo projects for awhile. Just can't seem to justify the time I waste any more.

Rog, don't give up on solos. Completing a 256er can have a weird effect on you (I know I did when I finished Paradise Bay). Try a few smaller or mini's (Viva Las Vegas maybe) as they allow for more options.

This park was way under rated and deserved better.

James
