Are you going to enter as a team?

As I recall wolfly if you won as a team you have to enter as a team. But This is the last round and I think (Could be wrong) but only me and knighthawk were the only team this time. But I think I will let the rule makers take this. I don't see a problem. But up to the the people running the contest. :D

Airtime and nin entered as a team. They may continue as a team or as individuals.

It is in my opinion not a good idea to enter a contest as a team. The downloads section in particular only associates ONE name (not two) for a park. This is the way the boards are written - using member numbers. So in team entries one member always plays a phantom role.

Also in my opinion, it may be harder to maintain a single vision and consistency with a team entry. While it seems that a team has the ability for one member to compensate for the weaknesses of the other and thus increase likelihood of a "better" park, this is not always the case. With more than one vision and direction, a design can be diluted and not as sharp. It can become a "camel".

(a camel is a horse designed by committee)

A team can indeed create a superior product by combining forces, but there is no guarantee the team can multiply strengths and uplift weaknesses rather than just have a blander, more compromised product. Teamwork can be difficult and that is one of the benefits of having clubs where teamwork as a skill can be honed.

I have seen many great team parks. I have seen as many not so great team parks. There is never a guarantee a team park will be better simply because it is a team park. ;)

Just so y'all know....me and my troops have a rather ambitious start to this and we've decided that nothing short of victory will be satisfactory. So, if you want one of the new trophies.....you'd better step it up a notch. And yes...this WILL get finished.

I thought that the final rr park has to be completed by the Exact person who entered, meaning that Airtime and Nin have to work together.

While that makes perfect sense, I don't recall anywhere in the rules that this is so stated. It does say "all winners/runner-ups will be invited to participate in the Final Road Rally of the Year". I suppose the phrase "all winners" can be interpreted as either all teams or all members in a team.

I stated my reasoning and thinking on why team entry is not a good idea for contests in general, but the rules for this contest were not specific on this issue.

That may be addressed in future competitions.

I really hate how some people have teams though, and at the rate I'm working, I'll get crushed. This contest is fun though, but hard considering that I have created a really horrific bench. I do remember Louis saying that if you win a competition and gain access to the finals, then your finals park has to be completed by both of you, which leads to my conclusion that if the same 2 people have to complete a park for the finals then if they completed in the competition, if 1 person makes it to the finals, they have to compete alone. Anyways, I don't want to get disqualified, so would you count coaster track with log flume cars as a coaster? I'll be looking forward to this contest and future competitions aswell.

Thanks but no thanks.

I don't see how a single builder could stand a chance against a team. It's an unfair advantage. So I will not enter. Thanks anyway. But I guess since my entry won only because I was the ONLY entry. I really don't stand much of a chance anyway.
