RCT2 has a certain feel to it that makes it so great, there's no putting it to words.. it's like an.. atmosphere.. that makes it awesome.
RCT3 lacks that.. from the dumbass people who we all learned to love, to the way everything is so scaled-down, to the WAY better peep screams.
Some people I guess never really enjoyed all that, but for the ones who did, a majority of the RCT community, we stuck with it.

Who's problem is that? The main problem with 2 and 3 is everyone can run RCT2 but not RCT3. I can go to my laptop and open any RCT2 park but not RCT3

I've had more problems opening RCT2 parks than RCT3 parks.
Well, Sambo, I mean RCT3 isn't "fun" because it's missing a.. feel.. for most people.
RCT2 has a certain feel to it that makes it so great, there's no putting it to words.. it's like an.. atmosphere.. that makes it awesome.

So basically it's just a feeling. A personal preference that cannot be quantified other than RCT3 lacks it.
While I find that RCT2 does have a charm that keeps me coming back - I find myself too limited and frustrated by it. Once I found out what RCT3 could do and how I could let my creativity run loose, I was hooked - by a "feeling." Certainly RCT3 isn't perfect, and heaven forbid if you have an older computer (as I did in the beginning) as you will never get it to behave. The expansion packs were better in RCT3, and the RCT3 custom scenery, rides, cars, etc... IMHO allows me more creative options than the CS does in RCT2.
I suppose I agree with your reasoning, as it applies also to how I feel about RCT3.

Wolfly most laptops can't run RCT3 and heck most computers can't run rct 3. I know it's sounding like BS but I am just stating a fact. That is why it failed the real reason is not enough people could play it. And the fun just wasn't there.

It's hard to find a decent desktop out there that doesn't meet that. Unless the graphic capability is all onboard. Then a $50 card can fix that.
If what you are saying is that most computers that are a few years old don't meet those specifications - and therefore don't run RCT3 well - then I'll agree. If those specs are met and RCT3 can't run, then it is most likely a bunch of system add-on's, replacement codecs and drivers, and a BUNCH of stuff loading in at startup that eats up available memory and processing time that could be used for RCT3. Nobody needs 92 processes running on boot eating up 1.3 Gb of memory, and consuming 28% of your processing resources. But I have seen exactly that on someone's machine that had problems running RCT3. A good housekeeping and the problems went away.
In my experience, if the computer has the above specs and can't run RCT3 - it is not the game.

The reason it "failed" when it came out was that most systems in homes didn't meet the above requirements - and those on the box were the minimum specs to boot the thing - not actually play it. Since most people had problems - myself included - we complained, got a few patches and lived with it. Once I upgraded my hardware - all those problems mysteriously vanished. That's when the fun really kicked into high gear. For people just starting with it today - it is a different world.
For a game that "failed", there is more custom scenery being made for it now than RCT2 by a longshot...

So, the peep editor is possible, but the ride editor isn't?

Uh, not these days. Most decent new computers sold now are able to run RCT3 on at least Balanced settings which isn't too bad for the average user.Wolfly most laptops can't run RCT3 and heck most computers can't run rct 3. I know it's sounding like BS but I am just stating a fact. That is why it failed the real reason is not enough people could play it. And the fun just wasn't there.

It has to be something Vista related then. I have XP.
RCT 3 had always worked here, since it's installation.
