Anyway....I haven't seen the bench yet but I'm gonna say.......The bench IS what it IS. Build with it or don't. No one's gonna twist your arm and no one's gonna miss you if you choose not to participate. Ever since Wolfly started whining about the RR benches a few months ago...EVERYONE seems to feel the need to pitch in.
Contest rules are exactly that....rules.
Deal.
Build.
See ya' in the finals.

No, it's that I get a creepy feeling of the big AIG Bonus Fail in that they secretly cheat and screw everyone over.

And the big reward for winning a compo is... what? Fame? Glory? Bragging rights? A stack of scratch-off lottery tickets? I can tell you from first hand experience, it's none of the above. But just think that if someone DID cheat, and if the word ever got out... What would you think would happen? I'm confident that cheating by anyone on the staff is nonexistant. There are just too many people, watching everyone else. Anyone who knew beforehand of the destination of the RR compo, is NOT allowed to enter. Period. I have faith and trust that it's not going to happen.

And usually - but not always due to problems - the bench creator posts the bench at nearly the same time it gets announced. The Staff has no real advantage in knowing the location without a bench. In fact I think we tend to be harder on each other than we are on members.
Most assuredly the bench creator can't be a winner. Most staff never enter because of these very reasons. It would be an ethical challenge.
