OK I now have a Vista computer that has DirectX 10. Now I have a new problem, my computer has 64-bit Vista. Will RCT3 work on it?

Not a lot of info...

I have been told that if it runs on Vista 32 it will run on Vista 64.

Sorry for the double post, the edit button disappeared. Well, now after installing update 3, my RCT3 says, "Please insert your RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 CD" when the CD is already inside the disk drive. Running from Autorun doesn't work either.
Any help here?

DANG!! I installed update 3, which is for Wild! when I don't have any expansion packs!!
But it still won't work. I guess I'll just have to stick with RCT1 and 2.

Well, that solves part of your problem.
The game has been updated for an expansion that you don't have.
What's happening is the game is looking for code from the expansion set disc, which you don't have.
My guess would be to just uninstall EVERYTHING and start over.
Then try a fresh install with the compatibility set to XP or Vista 32 bit (if available).
Has the game ever worked at all for you??
We'll keep digging to get an answer until we run outta options.

Sound advice. I'd recommend trying the uninstall (then a registry cleaner) then a reinstall.

I did that 2 months ago, Sambo. And dukefan1907, my game has worked for a few days but it was very laggy. Probably because I'm using Windows 2000.

Well, this tells me two things....LOL!!!
1) Your game SHOULD work if you just do the uninstall and forget any updates from the atari site.
2) You are probably trying to update it to get rid of the lag, don't bother it's going to lag no matter what.
RCT 3 is graphics intense and MOST computers have trouble running it- REGARDLESS if the comp
meets the game's specs or not. To be honest, this is what has kept me from playing it more than I have.
My computer is souped up enough to run the game, but the more I have in a park, (rides, peeps, etc....) the slower the
game gets. So, I finally gave up and just went back to two.
I'm not sure if your running windows 2000 has anything to do with it or not, BUT you could try setting the compatibility to XP just to see if it helps.
