Another quick Q...Does Top Thrill fill up quickly? (it probably does but...) If so, does it have a long wait when it's filled?
Its got six trains, but still...want to hear it from someone whose been there alot.

I've been there many times and have ridden Top Thrill every time except the day it was closed all day...and I don't think that happens much anymore.
I have found each time that the best time to get in line is around the dinner hours 5-7PM but you still have a wait...it moves fast though and quite frankly its worth the wait

Secondly, I'll need a little help with my route...
Since we're going to be staying in one of the resorts we'll be able to get in an hour before the park opens to the general public. I'll be able to hit MF, Maverick, Raptor and Skyhawk (hopefully) within the hour, and then I'll head straight to Top Thrill so I can get a good spot in line before the masses infiltrate the park. But what next? Anyone here have a good route to get on all the rides without having to wait in a significantely large line? (I can deal with a 45 minute if it's a really good one, like Magnum or Mean Streak)
I've got only 3 weeks until departure, any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!

(oh, and feel free to comment on any part of the strategy I already have planned if you feel there is a better way to do it)

So many people want to ride the new coaster that most of the other rides were nearly walk-ons the day I visited. Only Maverick, Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, Raptor, and Disaster Transport were showing any significant queue times. And only Maverick and Top Thrill were hour-long queues even at that.
The resort entrance is at mid-park near Top Thrill Dragster, and since most of the other folks will be headed for Maverick, I'd say to do the Dragster first since it's a rather slow queue. Maverick is running six trains, loaded two at a time, so it won't hurt you too much to queue up for Maverick behind the other resort guests before the main gate opens. Even if the queue for Maverick reaches the midway, that's only about an hour wait. The line moves almost continuously, it's so efficient.
After Maverick, the main-gate crowd will be just getting in and repeating what you just did, so you'll beat most of them to nearby Millennium Force. From there you can dash to Raptor while the masses are still at the back of the park waiting for Maverick and Top Thrill.
After that you're at the front of the park, the crowd will be mostly at the back, and the remaining rides tend to have short queues anyway so it's your choice from there.
Try to save Disaster Transport for mid-afternoon when it's really hot, to take full advantage of the air-conditioned queue. You won't mind spending a half-hour or so in there when it's 105 degrees out. The ride is fun and the theme work is a a hoot, too.
I'd advise skipping Mean Streak unless you're a masochist. The track is in such bad shape that my kidneys hurt for about 15 minutes afterward. I swear it's running on square wheels. I love wood coasters, but someone's going to end up peeing blood if they don't re-track it soon. Just be warned, if you do it, make sure you have enough slack in the lapbar to lift your butt off the seat a little, otherwise you'll be in pain city.
Don't miss Gemini, Wildcat, or the Dodgems! Oh, and Top Thrill tends to overheat and get unreliable late in the day.
One other hint- if it's hot you're going to dehydrate very quickly. The best drink deal in the park is probably the souvenir cup lemonade, which is then refillable cheap. It's tasty, all-natural, and it keeps you hydrated while replacing the electrolytes you are rapidly sweating out. Also drink lots of just plain water in addition to anything else you drink. There are fountains near the restrooms, and all soft-drink booths will give you a cup of water for free if you ask.
I guess that's it. I loved CP, and with two days you have plenty of time to do just about everything you want to do. Hope this helps.

RNRMontux - Thanks for the tips! What do you mean by the line goes really fast on the Magnum? Does it fill up fast or does it move fast?
More advice is welcome! Also if anyone else might be going to CP soon, feel free to post any questions on this thread.

The line [for Magnum XL-200] moves fast. When I was there, it took no time to get on the ride, and the line looked full. The ride capacity must be really good.
IIRC, Magnum takes 36 riders per train, and the CP staff loads them as quickly as people can walk to the seats and get the restraints down.
One neat thing about CP is that they always seem to run one more train than the track can handle, so as soon as a train goes out, there's always another on the brake ready to come in for reload. They often also have a holding area before the first lift hill, so once a train is loaded they can push it out and load another, even if the lift isn't ready yet. They have separate exit platforms on popular rides so the trains come in empty, too. The rides almost always operate at maximum efficiency that way.
BTW, has anyone else noticed the subtle humour in the ride theming and naming at CP? Magnum XL-200 trains look similar to the old 2-XL robot toys that Sears used to sell in the late 1970s. Millennium Force has a Star Wars-esque logo to play on the Millennium Falcon. The "Sunday Sunday Sunday" bit that they do on the PA at Top Thrill Dragster is hysterical, as is the 'Baby I'm ready to GO" song use... and don't get me started on Disaster Transport. Almost every ride in that park has an in-joke about it somewhere.
