Already congratulated before, but now I´ve had time to explore the park.

Certainly enjoyed it, many funny and very creative things that I really value. And it's not that it might be "outdated", for real quality has no date, but I have to agree with some others that it is "a slight departure from other VP Parks".
Meaning for me that compared to most of the other VP-Parks, this one should at the best have been a Runner Up. ( But with the dip in contributions.... the standard may go down a bit  ) Which, nevermind the  , I do regret.

Anyway, nice work! :D

^What I meant with outdated, is that our skills have been improved in the past year..
Which is not very weird or something, because well, everybody does improve and becomes more and more familiar with the game year after year.. I'm not too familiar with your parks, Emergo, other than your VP park and that Greece styled park, but I'm sure your more recent work will look better to you than one of your first parks.. When I look back at my old parks, I do enjoy them, but I like my recent parks better... So maybe 'outdated' isn't the right word, but something like 'undeveloped'..
I agree however, on the runner-up thing... But like Boomer stated in his walkthrough: 'This not only lets me virtually escape into a RCT park, but in some ways it lets me have a virtual mini-vacation while reviewing someone's RCT artistry. That's actually where I came up with the name Vacation Park (VP) contest a long time ago.'.. I think that's what VP is all about, and it's up to you if this park achieve's that (to the judges it was aparently)..

Emergo, I found the park to be just over that VP threshold you speak of. Sure, I found the fast food area to be weak, no offense to you Six Frags, but as a whole, the park was creative enough, and had enough "uniqueness" to where I found it a VP. Sure this doesn't compare to South Beach, but this is still worthy of the VP title.

Just goes to show you - the VP's are judged on quality and their unique style, rather than how they conform to established styles.

Yeah, the fast food area wasn't very eye-catching, and it was intended to be a bit blocky/empty.. And South Beach is one of the best VP's out there imo.. I hope rog will create another park like that sometime..
Thanks for the reply postit..

Wow! That sure made my mouth water. If only the download server is working.
Also, I'm wondering how to get the different theming for your park.

Welcome to the Forums eh!Steve!. Wish (and am sure) you will have a great time here! :D

There are loads of beautiful parks to be downloaded from the Vacation parks, as well as from the database for all other contests! (check it out!!)

Database is still down, but I guess it won't be too long before it's up again. ( )

About the theming: whenever you download a park, it comes in a .zip format.
Unzip the park into your Rollercoaster RCT2 Saved Games folder.

Load RCT and open the park. You'll see that RCt starts loading.......importing object files..... and then nearly always it will give an error trapper and close down (when you are trying to open a downloaded game)

This is because RCt is stumbling upon the new scenery that came with the park you downloaded. The new scenery first has to be recognized properly by the game.
Just try to open the game again, and it will work and be opened.
If that happens, the new scenery that was used in the downloaded game, is now in your "object folder" of RCt also, meaning you can see the parks that used this scenery as well as using that scenery yourself once you are going to make a new workbench/scenario yourself.

Happy building/looking :D

Thanks, Emergo. I'll bear that in mind if I download a park on this.
