Emergo is Nederlands?

Lol, that's the 3rd park inspired by the Netherlands that wins the VP :) Nice job Emergo, the park looks very nice :)

Bedankt Evil ME for your reaction. Very nice you react to me in Dutch, I understand that perfectly (! :wait: ) But be aware that the language on this forum is English. Of course nothing against it if you drop a word or two in 'our own language', but I think you should not do that too much, for most of the other visitors of this site will not be able to understand it. We would not like it either if most of the people started to have discussions in Russian or Japanese, would we?
Anyway, thanks for your advice about WW. So sorry you can't see it now. I have noticed this is a problem for many people to see the park (which I regret soooo much). So I will find out how to de-install it without losing my current work.

Well, I couldn't view it since it requires WW...

But, congrats on the win! The brochure was also very nice.

btw Michael, Hollandsche Glorie only got runner-up since we had to face-up against Portmeirion :'( . But then again 5 out 15 VPs where won by dutchies (at least partly) :D Not bad concerning we are not the largest group, but then again those youngsters at RctMiracles and RctHolland are starting to grow up and starting to build better parks :P lol :P

But now lets get back on topic here. First I have to thank Emergo for mentioning us. I think Frags appreciated it too. Again this is a nice VP if you look at the overall picture. Still you can clearly see that your not skilled on any ground. Rides is the best example of that. It reminds me a bit of those old rct1 megaparks with those huge double coasters (racing or dueling aren't actually the right term here). The big difference is the theming. The theming makes the park in this case and seriously not the rides. However that isn't a strange thing purely because you chose for a 'recreation'- type of theme. The question is: can you make a good park if the focus is more on the ride experience then on this kind of buidling.

Don't get me wrong, I like the park very much, but I wonder if you have more potential when you get to design rides.
I'm looking forward to see more from you!

I would like to apologise for not being able to judge your park Emergo, its a long story. To put it short, i lacked WW at the time... Anyway, i will judge it by the screens. This is probably the most impressive first park i have ever seen, i have never been to Holland (yet), but i can say it looks pretty accurate to some Dutch buildings i have seen in brochures.
I really like the way you intergrated rides and coaster into this town, overall it looks to have worked pretty well. Superb park, you Dutch people are getting too good... ;)

Thanks X250, for your flattering words. No need whatever to make excuses about not being able to judge, because of this WW (In fact I would like to get rid of it, without losing current work, I see Tyandor did an offer for something like that on which I am going to react). Hope you can anyway enjoy something of it by the screens in the meantime.
And thanks for the compliment to 'the Dutchies', have not yet an idea how many there are around, but indeed, for such a small country I encounter then quite regularly here. :)

Tyandor:
Dutch mode
Dank voor je uitgebreide reactie. WW-vrij maken?
:D

You are absolutely right, I am not skilled on any ground in this game. :">
To be honest, up till october last year I had not ever really played any game on pc, apart from freecell or exercising my bridge in a lost moment. But now and then I had helped my young son by the strategic parts of SimCity, Transport Tycoon and Patrician. As he has no patience at all, these games where out of the picture within a month or two. Same happened with this (fantastic) RCT2. I was supposed to help him with installing the handymen, make good working paths, and to figure out why a scenario was hard to master. When he put the game into the drawer to get back to his beloved CS, it stayed in my head, especially all those possibilities to build nice things with scenery. Due to an illness (thank you, it's getting better slowly but surely) I had to be at home for a long period and could only sit down. I picked up this magical game and tried to find out how it worked. I made a map to experiment with, downloaded here and there some things from the internet and made the park about Utrecht I was longing to make. I liked the results and wanted to sent it in. To be able to do that, I had to become a member of this site (never have been a member of any site on whatever subject before), so I became a member. Good thing after all, for now I've seen and learned so much more about this game in one month than I have in those months before when I was wrestling on my own. Got nearly ashamed that I had send in my beginners-park. Then won VP April. Joy and proud, but I realise very well that just this alone does not make me a promising (let alone talented) member, though even now, while I have seen a lot more then a month ago, I think my theming is rather good, and I also know that I can make a park with a difficult layout that still works absolutely peep-friendly. (also know that this is not required everywhere).

You are quite right, Tyandor, the theming makes this park, and not the rides.
If I can still make a good park if the focus is more on the ride experience than on this kind of building?. At this moment I will have to answer you: NO, I definitely can't. (you have seen that very well). I am not a terrific ride-builder. :(

If I can do that in the future,(improving rides up to the standards that many others can do by now) I do not know either. I am working on making rides, but definitely my great passion lies in theming, and even if I am exercising on it, I think I'll never become a really great ride-designer. I realise that a really good park consists of a superbe mixture of all the features this game has to offer: superbe theming, superbe rides, great layout for peeps. (Although the last seems not to be of much importance anymore: many award-winning parks where peeps cannot even get in, let alone the parks in which they are stuck somewhere). :(
But, sorry, being a bit naughty, your (and Frags') 'Hollandsche Glorie', which I still admire very much, does not it only have one custom made coaster ?
(Not that this would be an excuse for me to not ty to improve on my ride-building, but just to point out that parks can be really nice/innovating or whatever without many fantastic coasters.)

Anyway, many many thanks for investing time in my park, for giving me things to think about and for offering help with the WW-thing. :D
