PM it to me and I'll take a look ;)

First of all guys, we need to go way back to basics to make some quality tutorials. I think we should create a general architecturetutorial showing the best way to make walls, windows, dividers, roofs, building shape, boulcanies all in one. We could then make additional tutorials about specific buildings, i.e how to make a park entrance or how to make a hotel. Any ideas/suggestion/comments?

Louis ;)

I think we should start with a basic building shape, and picking the right wall and colours. Juts show the best way to build a building, and different methods of doing it. Then we should start going into different buildings, such as train stations, entrances, shops etc.

This is weird, Ive done all these tutorials before.

Ill be starting a basic architecture one in about 10 minutes, I just wanna know, are we all gonna be making the same tutorial, like one each? I think that it would be best for just one person for each tutorial, as alot of people doing exactly the same thing could lead to people saying "well his is better than his, his sucks" and we dont want that, do we?

Yep I totally agree with you there. Thats exactly what I had in mind. You say you have made these before? We could use those ones if you have made if you like. Or we can edit them, or just start from scratch, its up to you Marshy.

Well seeing as though I made the original tutorial topic months and months ago, and now every link is broken (I used btg guide gallery back then), there are none left. So I think its best if we started from scratch. Weird, I'm sure you were here when I made them.

Yeh so, I did about 10 tutorials, the topic was about 11 pages long, its still there I believe (in the tips and tricks forum).

Anyway, starting from scratch, yeh.

Okies then. For archy we will cover the following:
  • Building Shape.
  • Walls.
  • Boulcanies.
  • Roofs.
  • Experimenting with different materials i.e wood and stone.
  • Making all of the above into a fine looking building.
  • Themed Buildings
  • Building styles for a purpose (i.e park entrance)
That list is pretty open and can take a while to complete. I'ld rather we spend longer to complete this list instead of rushing it and make useless tutorials. Each instruction should be at least two scentences long explaining whats happening and why it looks good.Marshy will you be covering the top 6? If so I can start on some specific buildings.

Yeh sure. The one I have ready is just a starter tutorial, just showing you a biasic shape of a building, and explaining about where to place things. This isnt in that list, so I could save it untill after I have covered those bullet points (or the top 6, whatever). So I'll start with a building shape tutorial, explaing about the shape of the building and what you need to avoid.

I think my completed tutorial falls into the category of "making all of the above into a fine looking building".

I should be able to get a couple of those done today, if not tommorrow, as Im pretty busy at weekends.

I have an ongoing project which is The Ultimate Object Guide - basiclly everything to do with object design.

There's a preview of how it all works HERE

This preview covers Glass Objects and how to create them. Since the release of preview i've actually changed a couple of things.
