I have to admit that when I first heard I couldn't have it all in RCT2 I was disappointed. :( I was also spoiled from having everything in RCT1. As I learned how to play RCT2 properly (major differences from RCT1), I found that I just plain didn't like everything. I don't like all the scenery, I don't like all the rides, and although immediately after installing we have access to all the scenarios, I don't like any of them. :><: I very quickly came to the conclusion that there was no point wanting everything in a game that contained so many things that I didn't like.

So far, the limitation placed on the items that I am allowed to have is acceptable.

Additionally, some of the rides I've downloaded don't work as I think they should, don't look as I think they should, or the quality of animation in some rides is not acceptable to me - having determined this I am now willing to drop these items from my scenario. Some of the scenery, when actually placed in a game, has turned out to be not quite what I expected - these are items I'm also prepared to let go from my scenario. Likewise, some of the stalls are not to my liking. So right now, I can actually do with fewer items, not more. :)

Overall, though, I like RCT2 a whole lot better than RCT1. There are a few things that I miss: boost ride track sections is one of them, a bigger selection of wall types for vertical landscaping is another. And somehow the peeps looked better in RCT1. In RCT2 most of the peeps look like they're wearing sunshades - even those that haven't bought any. B) But I'm glad I made the move to RCT2.

I really miss the boost ride track sections but I think I have learned to deal with them and use a lot of twister coatsers. I am glad however that the physics are very unrealistic making it so they arent totally needed as they are using the realistic physics in RCT3D.

hey, not to take this thread away or anything, but i was somewhere on rollercoastertycoon.com, and found a post that stated you could download RCT1 sceneries, and linked it to the site. Does any1 know where it is? My dad said I could download one or two parks. And how would I download it, like wat folder and all?

Dakinle converted the RCT1 scenarios. They are on the RCT2.com dowload pages: HERE.

Step by step downloading:
Take the park of your choice and click it. You then get the window for that particular park. Click Download. In the now appearing window you click "save". This gives you another window with "save as". Chose a location where you want to keep your RCT downloads. I, myself, made a folder for it called: RCT2 downloads.
Then click "save" and the file will download to that location.

Now to put the file into the game:

Go to location where you keep the file. It is zipped so you will have to unzip it. Rightclick on the zipped file. Take: "Extract all". This brings you to the Extraction wizard. Follow the instructions. The wizard asks you to select a location for the extracted files. The location that is given is the same folder you downloaded the zipped file to, so don't need to make a choice because that's where it should be. So click next. The files will be extracted and a folder will appear. Go to that folder and follow the instructions you'll find in the Readme file to put the scenario into your game.

Hope this helps.

So technically if chris sawyer built RCT2 on RCT1, they should still share the same attributes? It seems as if RCT2 is a degration of RCT1!!!! I was never fond of the horrible RCT2 scenarios, even though I almost finished them all (except the horrible six flags ones, which the AI gets confused on the extra wide pathways)

Technically RCT2 should have been able to hold more objects if RCT1 could... unless chris sawyer rebuilt RCT2... which is obviously not true since RCT itself is seemingly built up from transport tycoon...

Also I despise the new menu music for RCT2, is there some way I can get the old music back?? I assume I would have to switch a file, but which one?

EDIT: I also miss the bar at the bottom which was taken away, I could easily click it to see new messages, and the rain doesn't fill that spot which annoyes me somewhat.
