QUOTE (mintliqueur @ Jan 17 2004, 12:42 PM)
I'm not really sure. But you can use certain art elements from WW and TT rides in new custom rides if you deconstruct them (WW and TT rides).

/mintliqueur

That's the illegal part, I believe...

Actually, the illegal part would be to make the ride available without the expansions. In other words, no noticeable changes would have been made to the graphics. I do believe that if you make noticeable changes to the graphics, it would be legal to distribute the 'reskinned' ride to the public, as long as you don't charge for it.

As for using the guts of the ride as the basis [like AE does], I don't think that Atari has a problem of that because the graphics are noticeably changed from the original ride used as the basis.

I believe, although I could be wrong, that the TT rides have different capacities than the originals they are based on.

That would be the only difference.

What would that be?

I've put a new version of Ridemaker on my site

http://www.interactivitiesink.com/rct2

It has the following new features:

1. Will deconstruct Wacky Worlds and Time Twisters rides (*)
2. Sets the pixel height and width to the maximum. This was mostly for AE's benefit.

No, it does not allow a preview. The user interface is exactly the same. No, it doesn't read all bitmaps. I know I should make it do that since I did it for the pathmaker. Maybe someday.

Enjoy!

(*) Yes, it will allow you to deconstruct rides from expansions and then recompile them so they can be used in without those expansions. Doing so is illegal, so don't.

Hi Buggy and thanks. When I downloaded the app, and unzipped it. I got the old 1.1 version. :wait:

So Buggy...

If what you said was true, will you be adding a feature to change the capacity?

There are many things I could add, but that's low on my list of priorities. I highly doubt I'll be doing much more work on the ridemaker in the future.

I like the update Buggy! But what do you mean by "Sets the pixel width and height to the maximum"?
