I think Chris Sawyer will release the source code when he retires from producing RCT. Which won't be until at least 10 years from now.Ok. There are some people who want all rides and scenery. Think about it if u have over 5000 objects..... It becomes less attractive. If they doubled the limits it would have been fine
About the hard-coding. If you would make a code-changing patch it would mean you violated the author rights, because altering the hardcode is strictly forbidden unless the sourcecode has been released for free use. (so called Open source)
As far as I know the Drexler-patch (rct1) didn't change the code...
BTW changing the limits would mean that you have to alter the savegame-structure
ANOTHER VERY IMPORTANT THING!!!!!
lots of scenery that doesn't have scenery-group will end up in the '?'-tab. Now the important thing about it..... THIS GROUP HAS A LIMIT ALSO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you take to much custom thingies, you won't be able to access lots of them

One thing I did find with that trainer is that there are times when you click a tab (and have not reached any of your limits or even close) and you will get the error stating you have too many objects and some wont be shown. When this happens to me I might see three out of lets say 20 in the tab. With this trainer I have that error much less often and can see all objects in the tab.
I will use it for that reason alone if nothing else. Clears up that bug in some user created tabs.

When you see the message 'couldn't select all objects' it means that in one of the tabs, be it the small scenery, walls etc. has exceeded their limit. I don't think it's a bug. However since I've used the dimport utility (allows you to add/replace small scenery while in-game) some objects are selected double resulting in a 254/252 object count...You can only see as many objects as your sceen will allow.

I have 5283 objects in objdata folder and I did not have to count them one by one because my computer counts them for me. I can also still scroll in the editor.yeah. if you DID have over 5000 objects. THEN it would be quite amazing. but you dont. unless you can prove it by actually counting. which would be very boring indeed. your eyes would pop out of their sockets..
