Looks pretty good ya big ape! There's a lot to see in the park. I like the vertical drop coaster, (Virtigo... Eh, it's a name I guess) and the use of wooden track for some of the roof elements are imaginative. You got a good cityscape going, which I suppose that's what the judges wanted. :( The archy is varied, colorful, interesting and plentiful. Lots of open space. It doesn't feel congested. Not much in the way of flowers, but I guess the rest of the park gives enough color to get by. Excellent choice of colors everywhere.

The Splash boats, The Fall of Ch'eng-Huang, was a remarkable hack. Very well sorted out there. It looks believable. It sort of a water coaster, rather than a traditional splash boats.

But the Stand Up coaster, Xuantan, Most of the track circuit is a B & M replacement, and the 6.00/10.98/7.40 ratings are over the top, as far as I'm concerned. Not to be boastful, but I managed to use only the Stand Up track, made a more realistic layout for the temperamental ratings that the attraction is known for. Unfortunately, the ratings were something that it seems, that you really didn't care to keep within ridable peep parameters. That said, the themed surroundings and the achetectual touches throughout the Xuantan area is nothing less that what I would expect from you. Marvelously detailed. You did a very nice job on the supports as well. And that's something I have to focus on in the future. The catwalk is really detailed. I like that.

I can see why you got the winner here. Congratulations!

>Edit<

Now if we can see what the rest of the entries looked like...

One of my websites has my park in pictures & a DL available.

Thanks, Hairball.....

Actually, the ratings on Xuantan were quite acceptable until, out of nowhere, they changed dramatically when I did the transfer track. I didn't get it then and I still don't. If you follow the ride itself along the course and even look at the G stats, it's not really anywhere near what the intensity says it is. I mean, I realize that some of the elements aren't truly designed for a stand-up (well, this particular RCT version anyway) but, when I initially built it they were around 9.5 for both intensity and excitement. And the only alteration I did to the track was to slow it down coming out of the underground section just after the bat wing. Go figure. And, I certainly didn't have the time or desire to go back and make adjustments since I'd done so much surrounding the coaster before the ratings spiked. "The Fall of Ch'eng-Huang"....that's exactly what I was shooting for, more of a water coaster than a typical splash boats ride and, I was really happy with how that turned out.
And, with "Vertigo".....I simply forgot to name the damn thing until right before I wrapped everything up and went with the first thing that popped into my head. Mostly because I did roughly 60-65% of the park in the last 4 days prior to the deadline because I was so wrapped up with our H2H5 parks. I'll go DL your entry and give it a little 'review' as soon as I get a chance.

Also......I want to add that I don't know why my park won't let peeps in now. I had it chock-full of peeps the entire time I was building and now, they just won't enter. Again, probably something stupid I did in my rush to get it finished in time.

I wonder what would happen, if you just built the B&M stand-up in it's entirety, and just put the other stand-up cars on it instead? Or would it somehow disqualify the attraction because it has a different track than the originally conceived coaster style? I wouldn't think so, as long as the cars are what the required coaster was. I mean, they do allow hacks. So I wouldn't understand what it would be disqualified for.

Anywho...
Considering that the rest of the park is exemplary, I wouldn't really worry too much about the ratings. I'm going to hold on to this one though. It's just too cool to let go of.

I just hope the next RR isn't another city full of rides, like the last two were. City themed RR parks are really beginning to feel redundant. It's almost as if it doesn't matter WHERE the city is, as long as there are office buildings with a coaster rolling through them, and some sort of hint at where the city is.

If it's another cityscape, I'll probably opt to sit the next one out. Office buildings are too boring, boxy and nondescript.

Actually, the Monaco setting wasnt meant to be percieved as a city setting. The point of using Monaco was that it features many different things to pick up on, and if you look at Monaco, you dont see many high rise buildings, or at least ones that rival many main cities and Monaco's buildings arent extremely modern. Monaco is built into a cliff type lanscape with a massive harbour. These are the elements we wanted people to pick up on. Hong Kong is completely different, with Hong Kong we wanted you to pick up on the massive, modern, high rise buildings that are completely different to Monaco.

I dont see the similarity between the two in any way at all. I personally think that you are trying to pick a fight again, because you didnt get the garden pieces you wanted. All you have done is complain about both benches that have been produced and clearly you have no idea how much time was taken into making those benches. You can't always please everyone, and with this round, as I have already explained, the idea was a high rise, modern city, therefore not many garden objects were included.
I'd rather you continued this in PM's rather than clogging up a topic that is meant for congratulations.

K_W, your park was clearly the better park. Congratulations, I wouldnt worry about the ratings as the coaster had tremendous flow. The architecture was great and the whole park generally was a great piece of RCT work. Well done, especially as you managed to build this whilst H2H is going on, something that I didnt manage to do :P

High rise buildings may not be an issue with the next location... ;)

To be announced soon.

That's ja227's Giga-Looper. It's in the bench, that's why it wasn't included in the zip. So, just DL the bench first and, viola!

And, as for the next location.....please, PLEASE include some water objects! Fountains and falls are fun to build and nice to look at no matter the geographical location.

Don't go there. You'll get "what for" from the bench designer(s).
