I never been there but wow, that's pretty sad. First double helix (or corkscrew) in Europe. And now it's being demolished, I wonder what it's gonna get replaced by.

Well, actually it's a double helix AND a corkscrew in that coaster.

That is one of the really old school coasters. It's all based around a radial frame that sits on the surface of the ground. No concrete piles or pillars, no underground/dark elements.

So I reckon it should be possible to dismantle it and take it somewhere else....

Right, but isn't there a version at Playland, PNE Vancouver?

I mean, they're both similar....

^ Yes there is! Playland's my home park.

It's no too intense, and the line is SUPER short even at prime time
But the wooden coaster's much better

The replacement for corkscrew has been codenamed SW6 and this image claims to be an early plan of the layout.

Planning permission was submitted in December 2008: http://publicaccess....o=KBM3OQPG04H00

That second link contains some details about where, and some of the buildings, but not the track layout itself.

You're right, it's not a full circuit. That's why it's labelled as 'switch backs'. Some of the world's very first coasters used switch backs. Essentially, the ride ends in a cul de sac, and is then 'switched back' to the beginning.
