Two Questions About Making Scenarios

Despite my avoiding using ANY scenery objects from the Soaked and Wild expansion packs, the finished scenario still shows the shark and tiger icons in the scenario menu next to the bench's name.
1. Is this because I am using RCT3 with its expansion packs installed?
2. Though I did not use Soaked and Wild objects in making the bench, will the user be required to have Soaked and Wild on this system to open the bench?
Lastly. While in the scenario editor, the little Sun icon appears at the top menu bar, allowing me to set day or night modes . But, when this scenario is saved, the scenario on the game play side, when opened, does not have the icon to control the mode. What am I doing wrong? It goes thru the day/night modes automatically, but want to be able to retain manual control.

1. & 2. You did not use ANY Soaked or Wild anything? Remember the Shops and Paths do not display the shark or tiger icon. You must remember which ones are original and which are expansion items.
Lastly. Not understanding - Are you saying the saved game (not the saved scenario) does not have the icon on the top bar (left, next to hat) that lets you click on it and then manually set the night/day mode?

Long time......chief!

The bench has only trees where non-labelled expansion types were used. I made sure by stripping out every tree and replanted a second time.
Two path types used: Flagstone and iron plate.
One Miner's lamp
No structures.
No rides except for a wooden coaster.
Replaced the default entrance with the iron gate style.
Was the iron gate an expansion item?
As for the second query.
Yes. The little Sun icon on the left top, next to the little hat does not exist on the 'game play' side. It was in the Editor mode during the sandbox's making, and when I run back thru the editor it re-appears. But it does not exist when opening the scenario to play it.

Again, your great brain may have touched the problem. All those 'researchable' items. I remember moving EVERYTHING from column A to column B so that all itemes are available.
This RCT3 bench was created just to peek at the ride and as a service to this historical society for them to view it at their Puritas bash. I am not going to start from scratch, or play doctor and determine was is wild and was is soaked. Since they will have to likely purchase the sim, they can just as easily buy the triple pack at a respectable price.
If you are interested in doing a bench test for me, pm me. Thanks chief!

Greets back at you Steve!
I think you are on to the right place to look for the Wild/Soaked connections. Could well be the 'researchable' items. A simple test would be to delete them all and check...
The time of day logo not appearing in the game is most puzzling. What are your times when the park opens and closes? Could be the range is so small that there is no need to display it. I'm picking at straws here as I can't seem to duplicate that happening.

Greetings,
My apologies for not replying sooner, but I have been rather engrossed studying and recreating the layout of the Santa Cruz boardwalk as a bench for RCT2. Great progress was made yesterday.
I have not fiddled with the time length, so it must still be the default setting. I will check that out when I run it again. The bench in play mode does go thru all its 24 hour cycle as one would normally expect, it just cannot be manually controlled. This is the ONLY bench (not that I've made all that many in RCT3) missing this icon. All my other sandboxes are fine. Curious isn't it?

PS: I bought myself Wild as a Christmas gift strictly for the cute little steamboat. While RCT3 is not my version of 1st choice, with the two expansion packs, the depth and level of play potential appears endless. But being able to walk around and literally view my recreations from the inside is quite fascinating as well as instructive.

Steve, that it is your only bench with the missing icon & associated abilities - it is indeed curious.
I too love the depth and level of play as well as the near infinite possibility of views. Someday when you have time, consider exploring the ever expanding world of custom scenery. We have some park snapshots in the forums that really convey the extra detail the scenery can provide. Plus, the amount you can have is limited only by your hard drive space...
