Here are a few options on how to make videos.
Website Version

For those of you who do not know how to make a video with RCT3's in game video maker, Vodhin made a great tutorial that can be found here:

Vodhin's tutorials - Just click on "Making Movies"

However, this tool can take up a lot of time, as it renders only one frame per second at a 30 FPS framerate, meaning it takes 30 seconds to record one second of video. A 3 minute video will take 5400 seconds, or 1 hour 30 minutes to record. There is another solution though, FRAPS.

There is a free trial for FRAPS, however it does cost money to buy the full version. You can get it here:

http://www.fraps.com

Finally, a free video capture program is below, however it will not record sound unless you buy the Pro version:

(Note: I have not tried this in-game for any game, only desktop tests, and cannot guarantee lag-free recording or high quality)
Just Click Download
A Tutorial

The tutorial shows the Pro version of the program, however, you can still get a good idea of how the program works. I'd recommend using the Windows Media Video 9 Compressor/Codec for your movies for maximum compression while everyone who uses a Windows computer can view them. XviD and DivX are both very good too, but people will have to download and install the codec if they have not done so.

Good luck in your movie making, and I hope to see as many of your videos as possible.

the problem of FRAPS is that you can't record with it in rct2 :( .
I prefer to use Hypercam, which allows you to record movies and sounds with the free version, but you will get a little add at the left top :(.

I agree that FRAPS is a great video capturing program, but the videos can take alot of room up on your computer so make sure you have enough memory. Capturing videos on RCT3 is a pain without FRAPS and it's best to get the full version if you want some good quality videos. By the way, thanks for the tutorial marinersfan59!. ;)

If you're lucky to have a friend or a teacher who has a copy of FRAPS at school then I suggest that you try to take it from them secretly and give it back the next day. That's what I did, and it was worth it.

And I'm SURE you aren't suggesting anyone else do that Tom, because not only would that be stealing from the friend or teacher, but it's also a illegal use of software since you didn't pay for it nor are you athorized to use it, AND therefore is prohibited from being discussed by this site's TOS rules...

Right? :wait:
