Last night around 2:15am, the forums went down with a whole bunch of errors ranging from 500 to 503, and today all of a sudden, it lost all my info. I had no idea how my browser managed to remember my LReyomeSFNE info for me to post the other day, I actually thought I posted under a different name, as I have not posted here in 6 years before the other day.

Eastern, and it happened again last night. Does the server shut down after a certain time?

That's 07:15UTC when the server backups run. All sites on the server are taken off line during backup. But there should be a reasonably friendly error message rather than a 500.
