I tried to download a trainer I used in 2000, the Swis Army Knife and it's for windows 98 lol. Anyone have one for Windows 8? Er I don't know how to programme very well so I can't make my own.

Did you install the Drexler patch before trying Swiss Army Knife?  I'm pretty sure you need to run the Drexler patch prior to using any RCT1 trainer.

Welcome to our forums pixienat.

The TRG Swiss Army Knife installer checks for Windows 95 or 98 and refuses to install if it thinks it is on a different version of Windows. This is easily fixed.

Download the TRG Swiss Army Knife trainer. (We don't have the RCT1 version here at RCTspace, only the RCT2 version.)

  1. Unzip it
  2. Right click on the unzipped program and select Properties, then Compatability. (See attached screenshot)
  3. Select Windows 98/ME and then Apply.
  4. NOW run the installer and you will find that it will install
  5. Now the trainer is installed, it will start on Windows 8.1.

Whether or not it actually works, I haven't been able to test. And as Sambo says, if you run the trainer and then save the scenario that you are playing, RCT will not let you open the saved game again unless you've installed the Drexler patch for RCT.

Maybe we could obtain the RCT1 version for our downloads?  Worth a thought...

I may be missing something here, but where exactly can I get the Drexler Patch and what is it?

You can find it in our Downloads section. The patch enables the use of trainers and utilities.
