To ready ourselves for the new version of the board software, which will not run on our current server, we have purchased a new one and are now beginning to move all the rctspace network to its new home.

We expect to have completed the move before the end of March. Between now and then there will be some down time, which we will announce in advance.

That's not why it was down. It was down while I rehearsed a transfer of files from one server to another. I thought it would take a few minutes, it took over 5 hours.

Please note that the rctspace network availability will be unpredictable from 22:00 GMT for the next couple of weeks.

Right now 22:00 GMT is 4 hours ahead of US East Coast. From 29th March, 22:00 GMT will be 5 hours ahead of US East Coast.

For those of you in America (US and Canada) that are challenged by this, here are the times that the site 'outages' may begin to occur:

Eastern - 6 pm; 5 pm beginning 3/29
Central - 5 pm; 4 pm beginning 3/29
Mountain - 4 pm; 3 pm beginning 3/29
Pacific - 3 pm; 2 pm beginning 3/29

Thanks Rohn. You sorted out the times for people in the US, but now you've confused all the Europeans with the dates! We never knew that there were 29 months in a year! ;)

Yes, I know that confuses the rest of the world. In the US, it's generally MM/DD/YYYY for the date format, except for the military which does use DD/MM/YYYY.

I realised I should have stated an end time too. I expect the availability fo the rctspace network to be unpredictable for 9 hours per day from 22:00 GMT.

If I KNOW that the sites will be unavailable then I'll definitely post in this topic. But you won't be able to read it because the site will be down!

RCTHELP I have some room on my server if you need to I can host some things for free. To tell people the server is down and when it will be back. If that helps.

Thanks viking16. We already do have a special 'bolt hole' at rct*mart to let people what is going on during these server moves.

But they do seem to be down at the moment. :(
