Next month it will be there already: Valentine's Day.

The perfect occasion to give a nice surprise to the one(s) you love.
And may be get a surprise yourself as well!

If you want to do it in RCT, we again for you have the

VALENTINE'S CONTEST.

The bench is just around 30x30,
it includes a bunch of objects that might come in handy for Valentine's,

and you can download it here

Besides the obvious objective of theming to Valentine's Day, the other objective is to build any coaster of your choice (out of the ones available in the bench) with a Heartline Element, or looking like a heart!

Hacking and trainers are allowed.

In the bench the park is closed. If you like it, you can open the park with a trainer to allow guests into it,
However:
Your park must be closed and without guests when you submit it.

Deadline for this contest is: February 29 2008, 12.00 PM Midnight EST.

All entries should be sent to:rctspacecontests@gmail.com
The subject of the e-mail has to be "Valentine Contest" and your forum name has to be mentioned in the e-mail.

Even if you are participating in the other contests, you might have time for this one, its so small and such a fun-thing to build!! Plus you have lots of time to build this one!

So, send us some Valentines, cuz we'd love to receive them!

Oh....anything to "win" with this one???

Well....of course the fun of building it... and if your park is the winner, or a runner-up, it of course will be mentioned in your member-title. ;)

If you are not sure what a Heartline element is, here is some help:

- Heartlined means the track is centered around the riders heart (heart height at the center of the train);
- The train is rotated 360 degrees.
- Name can be different, depending on the manufacturer: e.g. Intamin calls them "Heartline Twists", Gerstlauer "Heartline Rolls". Also called "barrel roll".
- A barrel roll integrated with an airtime hill is called Zero-G roll (B&M)
- An Inline-twist is a lot alike, only the track is centered around some point that is NOT the heart,
- Heartline loop is an inversion looking like the outline of a heart. (Batwing, Double Sidewinder)

All those elements will do.

And here some pictures:

Correct me if i'm wrong, Emergo, but I think it should be pointed out that for purposes of this contest, barrel rolls and in-line twists will also be considered heart-line elements, even though, technically speaking, they are not.

what about a rotation in the vertical axis ? so a turnarround in the coaster ?

haven't checked the bench yet but I think i figured something out to make this work in all coasters so I need to know if it is allowed ;) .
you are turned on 1 place arround the hard to technically it should be allowed but I asked to be sure ;) .

^ Yep, fun little contest I think, so a good one to try for your first
Looking forward very much to your entry, Luketh!

You may build as many coasters as you like, though at least you have to build one, with a Heartline element in it as described in the first post. Any additional ones, with or without heartline elements, are fine and up to your choice.
Though don't forget to theme them to Valentine's!!!

Levis: what about a rotation in the vertical axis ? so a turnarround in the coaster ?

^ Every element I described in the "help" in the first post, will be meeting the objective for this contest (even if some of them technically are not a heartline element exactly).

If you want to hack a - not yet existing (?) -vertical one, as long as it meets the description I pointed to, that's fine. ;)

On another note however: as this is a fun contest, for the entrants as well as for me, don't make it too complicated......if you are not sure that I can recognize it as a heartline element without having to break my head over it, then you missed the goal...... :P
( :!: Warning: and neither am I intending to have endless discussions in this topic whether it is or is not a heartline element or equal to an inline twist or whatever....)

So....please let your famous hacking and creativity go wild!!!!,
but if you are not sure that I can recognize it easily as meeting the objectives, then better be safe than sorry!!
(in that case build a small thing with a "conventional heartline element" also I would advise, and you'll be safe anyway!!)

Sounds like fun. My Road Rally is about 40% complete, and something small like this will fill a nice time gap. You can probably expect something from me. ;)

EDIT: Although if Levis is entering, I might not stand a chance...

Technically, that is not even an "inversion" Leo, but I think Emergo has said above that it still counts, and I am curious to see what you have in store either way...

^ Pity you cannot enter, Fr3ak/Valentin (nice name :D ), but no time is no time, everyone can understand that.......
You are not by accident born on Valentine's day???

^ Yes, something small and pure fun, so it would be awesome if you can do one!

No idea at all why you would not stand a chance.....Levis for sure is a great hacker (may be the greatest?), but this is not about the best hack, it is about the "best Valentine park".............and that are still two completely different things..... ;)

ride_exchanger: Technically, that is not even an "inversion" Leo, but I think Emergo has said above that it still counts, and I am curious to see what you have in store either way...

^ no, I did not exactly say it still counts per say........I advised him to not make it too complicated and I stressed in Italic this:

Emergo:if you are not sure that I can recognize it as a heartline element without having to break my head over it, then you missed the goal...... :P

As I am far from being a hacking expert (which also Levis knows very well), I take it that he and everyone will understand that it has to be recognized as a heartline-element immediately and clearly, without complicated headbreaks if it is or is not.

That's why I advised him , if he was not sure of that,

Emergo: in that case build a small thing with a "conventional heartline element" also I would advise, and you'll be safe anyway!!
