In 1968 Walt Disney offered to buy the land used in Montreals World Expo, and build a Disney park. It never happened. Instead, the Montreal mayor turned Disney down and instead erected a half-assed park that to this day resonates in its own lameness. But what if the park had happened, or were still to happen some day...

Hi, I'm Dave. This is my first post. I only have the one park that I'm working on, and it is half completed. Here is a look (lots o pics) at Disney Canada

Feedback is very welcome.

I like it! :)

The architecture is very quaint. If all the other Disney recreations I've seen are accurate, then you've done a good job on acquiring the Disney atmosphere.

The only thing I would suggest is maybe putting in some more plants. Put in some flowers and shrubs around the buildings. You could put in some flower pots on the balconies and overall incorporate more plants into the archy. That would brighten up the park even more.

I see that most of the park is unfinished, great job so far!

Thanks, I'm going to go back with plants in mind and see what I can do. I'm trying to learn more about landscaping anyway, so this is as good a time as any to go with it. Good advice, and very welcome.

Pretty good. You should learn how to select custom objects, though, because some of the ones you are using are pretty bad. ;)

Sorry, Gwazi, but I don't think you can say that. Just because he is using different custom objects than you would doesn't mean they are bad. That is a matter of taste you know.
From dcornel's object choice I get the impression it is very carefully made, because I see objects from many different sources. You might not like some of his choices, fair enough, but that doesn't mean the're "bad", only not of your taste!

Although you are new here, you obviously aren't new to RCT, Dave! This looks like work of an experienced RCT player! I like the idea of the park and sofar it is very well executed.
Indeed, some foliage and some landscaping would be a good idea.

Looks nice. Though so far I haven't seen the some of the usual rides most Disney parks have, such as Big Thunder Mountain, Its a Small World, ect.

Coming from you that is amazingly high praise, and I am really happy that you took the time to look at my park, since I've seen so many of your parks/designs, and you are one of the people who showed my what the game was really about. Thank you.

I respect your opinion and appreciate the feedback. The irony is; I have created about 7 saved games to scenarios in this park, and each time I've either included something missed, or as is mostly the case, modified things to fit my needs. I'm pretty happy with my objects, but I'd love to see what objects you are reffering to. Keep in mind, I build mostly in 1/4 blocks that can have features attached forwards and back. (Did that make sense? Basically I'm talking about being able to overlap features on my walls.)
Take care.

Well, the path in the "Park Info." screen looks really out-of-place. I have seen paths like that with much better quality before. Also, the chairs in the third-to-last screen are pretty poor. Some of the plants and trees you use are not the best either. Then there are a few objects that, like Mama Bear said, are not the greatest ones in my opinion. The work is great, but some of the objects, not so much.

I don't mean to offend anyone who made those objects, so sorry if I do. :(

EDIT: Oh, and that popcorn stand in the "Baghdad Cafe" pic is from Zoo Tycoon, right? It was meant for that game...

That's true. I've only included Peter Pan's Flight and Splash Mountain Atlantis so far, oh yeah, and the film A Man And His Dream: The Walt Disney Story. I've also tried to mimic somewhat the Disney Paris version of Indiana Jones in my Atlantis area. I am in the works with a grittier fantasyland and have just completed Confederation Town (Can vesrion of Liberty Square), but don't know what rides are best suited. My Fantasyland I want more thrill oriented with families in mind. There is a kid coaster in Kidsville (to be renamed later), and I want a mild to medium coaster-like ride in this area that suits the Disney theme. In my adventure area I am going to have an indoor/outdoor pirates ride, and a Rockies version of Thunder Run. Any other suggestions?

I have two complaints:

1. The rides don't really seem to "Disney" (Cough Splash Mountian Cough). I know it's Canadian themed, but really, you've got to have more simialarity. Main Street's an exception though.

2. The rides seem very secluded. If you look at the overveiws it's just a bunch of architecture and then every few centimeters (I mean on my computer screen, not how it would be in real life) a ride pops up. That is very annoying for park guests because they have to walk a while to each ride. In regular Disney parks the rides with similear themes are in clusters, making it easier to ride more rides.
