I WAS pretty excited about this new contest because I thought this contest captured everything you all have been asking for with your contest ideas. HOWEVER, most of you who signed up for February couldn't even turn in your OWN challenges....we will give this thing one more go and if the participation/interest isn't there....then we will just not do this anymore...simple as that!

The concept is a simple Ladder Tournament and it works as follows:

This RCT1, RCT2, and RCT3 contest will run throughout the year in all the months there are not Road Rallies...excluding December since we have the Happy Holidays, so it runs February, April, June, August, and October. Whomever wants to enter can sign up to get on the ladder at any time during these months, but you will be slotted at the bottom. We can accomodate as many that want to play and as few as two people, AND anyone can enter all year long, you don't have to have already participated in February.

Signups begin today for APRIL and will continue for one week. On March 12, a challenge forum topic will show up and the challenges will begin...first come, first serve. The actual contest will begin March 19 for April, or later if the two agree to that. However, entries are due April 30.

I ordered the contestants for February and based on the results of the matchups...they are now re-ordered. IF SOMEONE IS STILL ON THIS LADDER AND THEY DON'T WANT TO BE ON THE LADDER ANYMORE, THEY MUST POST THAT HERE AND I WILL TAKE YOU OFF.....HOWEVER - THAT MEANS YOU ARE OUT FOR THE WHOLE YEAR!

When I post the actual April challenge topic in ONE WEEK, what happens is people challenge anyone they want that are within three rungs above them with whatever they want, for example: build a 50x50 mini, build an unthemed wooden coaster, build a themed water ride, build a structure, even build something in RCT1 or RCT3....no limits here! If you don't want to challenge anyone, that's fine, but you will most likely move down the ladder if you don't.

The challenge has to be accepted. If you get challenged, and you don't make an entry...you will forfeit and lose, thus moving down the ladder. Once all the April contests are finished and results are in, everyone is slotted on the ladder again based on their win/loss record and seeding will be secondary to that.

The deadline for the entries will be April 30 and the entries must be emailed on that day, midnight EST to rctspacecontests@gmail.com. REMEMBER TO EXPORT OBJECTS AND ATTACH THE FILE!!! I will then set up a poll with the entries for each individual challenge matchup. All forum members, even tournament non-participants can judge in the polls. The poll will be up for 10 days. The winner will move up the ladder, the loser will move down the ladder.

In mid-May the process will begin again, but with the ladder we ended with from April and I'll announce signups for anyone new who was not involved in this April contest, who wants to sign up for June. I'll also have a new challenge topic and new deadlines.

Some clarifications:
You can challenge ANYONE that is within three rungs above you...however, remember that you do not switch places with who you challenged, rather, this tournament is based on your win/loss record overall. The goal is to be at the top of the ladder at the end of the year and you will do that by winning your challenges. The challenges are first come, first serve. Don't wait too long to post your challenge or you may be left out altogether. I will open the challenge forum topic on a certain day that I have announced, and the challenges will begin.

I know there will be lots of questions but it only 'sounds' complicated, its actually very simple. There will be some awards to win at year-end and I'm still working on the award system.

This contest allows YOU the member to be creative with your contest ideas...YOU basically can think up your own contest and then participate in them!

When you sign up, you must state what versions of the RCT series you can participate in, RCT1, 2, 3 so that everyone knows what kind of contest they can challenge you with.

Below, is the ladder as it stands right now. If you choose to sign up for April, first come, first serve, you are placed at the bottom of the ladder. So please, ask your questions...AND/OR Sign up for the new CLIMB THE LADDER! - Remember to state which versions of the game you will compete in!

Hey Becky, I have a question. Is it against the rules to start your challenge early if you plan on challenging someone? I mean, if I get challenged first, then that's the consequence, so I would think it would be somewhat fair... If it's against the rules, I'll just consider the entry I started (Though as I've said, I've only done landscaping) as a regular project and come up with something else.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have any rules about it....but as far as I'm concerned, you are doing that at your own risk.

Becky,

Just a ? about the challenges. Will I be allowed to challenge down, I don't really want to always be at the mercy of the challenges thrown at me. Not that i don't think I can handle it, I would just like to initiate some of my own.

^^Okay, thanks for clarifying. :)

I wanted to do a project like this anyway, so if I don't get to use it for a challenge, I don't care. :D

Hey Rwadams i dont think you can because the point is that people lower in the brackets get sort of an upper hand because they get to challenge the higher people.

BUT!!!!

i would always be happy to chellenge you with your challenge...as long as i like it. maybe we could put your ideas for a challenge with any i want and make a challenge that would suit us both. just an offer :D

Its the price you pay for being king of the hill Rog...the underlings must challenge the top dog...

However, as the challenges shake out, just like last month...towards the end if there are straggling people left out...I allow breakage of the rules to get matchups...so we will see :wait:

Also...you could always lose a challenge sometime so you could move down :saint:

:P
