^Have to agree with trainman, you're awesome at main streets and clusters of multiple buildings. Your garden areas are very nice as well.

OOoooooh! You're putting in a giga? Ambitious!!

Only two suggestions:

DONT LET UP ON YOUR LANDSCAPING!!! It looks awesome in your update before this, it will look awesome in other parts of your park as well! (btw here's a tip: try not to make the water at the same level as the land ----- try to make the land higher than the water, so the water is 'contained' \---/ It looks much more better and realistic)

Also, you've got something going there with the two-toned pathing, you border the edges and the rides with brick pathing and the rest is stone. Try just bordering the edges of the path with brick, and leaving stone around the rides. That would help make the pathing look more controlled. If you really think it looks better with the rides also being bordered with brick, than it'll still look fine.

Awesome job so far!

Sooo good to hear and see you're on fire with this one again!

Most of what I see here I really love. And it seems a nice layout there also.

I agree with what cjman says on the landscaping: even if most parks in RL are build on a flat-land the better and more interesting ones "make" some landscaping here and there.....probably not in an area like this one, but just don't forget it too much in the total of the park.

In the fourth screen that white balcony could still do with something on it, I think, to make it less bland (a barrel, pot with flowers, a seating, whatever to break it up and make it more lively)

On the flat roofs: they absolutely are not looking bad in the screens you showed.
But to me, even if there are some things to break them up a tiny bit, they still look rather boring.
Some people "defend" that by saying that in RL most buildings in parks do have flat roofs, (true) and that they are "boring" if you see them from above. (not true, but most people simply have never seen those roofs from above...lol!). To brake up the flat roofs they place small blocks and pipes upon it, as ventilation-things, and access for maintenance, etc.
I think your flat roofs could also use those here and there to break them up a bit more still...either to give the ones that look at it some more diversion,(for the fantasy-style) or , for the ones that "defend" the realistic style, to show them that in reality those flat roofs are awfull to view: most people will never have seen them from above......but if you have...you know that it is one big cluttering-up of maintenance-things, loose parts, holes, etc....

Anyway: great promising park again.!!!

I do have a question however:
By now you will for sure know that most people who play RCT2 cannot view WW and TT. (apart from the screens).
No problem when you like it and just build completely for yourself.
But once you start releasing parks on a site (and winning nice awards!), you also want other people to be able to view it and enjoy it (otherwise you would not send it in etc..)

So, why do you still use those expansions?

Just curious.......

Please don't understand me wrong, I have nothing against it ( and if I had that would not be of any importance either. lol!) if you are having fun with it please just go on with your fine park-making in the way you want/like it, but....ehhh...I think you are a good and creative builder, so I'm sure that everything you really would like to create, you can also achieve without those expansion packs, and thus giving more people the chance to enjoy your parks in-game, as well as getting more recognition for what you can do with the game....

Cannot wait to see how this one develops,

Emergo :D

Here's the answer to your question Emergo. For some reason my computer will not recognize my RCT2 disc until I install the add ons. I don't know why it is like this, and I have tried to remove them, but it doesn't seem to work without them. I will get a new disc soon, and then I'll start from scratch. Untill then, I'm a TT WW slave. Thanks for the great feedback everyone. I will once again review your suggestions, and as usual, likely implement them. I have seen how much my parks have improved because of the feedback, so keep it coming when you can, and I'll be grateful as usual. I've got a project right now for a friend. I'm working on Blackpool Pleasure Beach. I will not let this park slip though, and will keep posting when I have new stuff. I have completed "Imagination" and will post that tomorrow, or later tonight.

I like the style that you have. Your objects aren't the ones people typically use, and you can still make it look good. The looping coaster I think, would look 10x better though if it had some terrain interaction and a little longer layout. The part under the castle is cool though.

Thanks. I took your advice.

dcornel, I have made a list of all the WW and TT objects, if you want, ill send it to you. You could use it to remove them from your ObjData folder so you don't accidentally use them, it would be tedious but also worth it, IMO.

And I know you can run the game with the WW/TT objects absent from the ObjData folder, too, for I have done this myself for years.

EDIT:
Of course you'll have to make sure you DONT remove those WW/TT objects you have ALREADY used in your park, you'll need those in your ObjData folder for sure, to load your park and continue work on it.

BUT... you could also use parkitect's ParkDAT utility to replace those WW/TT objects you have already used with RCT2 vanilla conversions of themselves.

I did that. It wasn't an easy job. I just yanked the TT & WW files. Someone converted the rides of TT.
But this is more hassle than it's really worth. I'm mostly weary of objects that don't export.

Well if dcornel also thinks it is a hassle than I volunteer to do it for him :P

Last year Havingfun made a list of all objects-rides-stalls etc. belonging to the original game, as well as for WW and TT.

You can find that list here

With this list, it is fairly easy to get all the WW and TT stuff out of you ObjData folder, as generally when you sort everything by date, (especially with Havingfun's list to look at) it is rather clear which .dats belong to the original game, which to the expansions and the rest is custom scenery.

Getting the expansion-objects out of the park you already used them in, nowadays is not difficult either, thanks to havingfuns list as well as especially to Parkitects' Parkdat-utility (with this one you can change objects already used as well as not yet used but chosen in the bench). But though it is not difficult, it can be rather time-consuming, depending on how many objects you have indeed used and chosen from the expansion packs.

When I made my first park (the VP "Utrecht Dwaze Domstad, yes silly difficult Dutch name!!! :D what did I know by then....)
I had done exactly the same as you, only it was just WW (not TT) and accidentally I had not used/chosen very many objects of the expansion packs. Out of the blue, while nobody still knew me on any site, it was Tyandor who offered to make the park "WW-free" for me. Which, by then, was a lot more difficult as neither Havingfuns objects-list or Parkdat existed yet. I am still very grateful to Tyandor for doing that!!

By know I am rather experienced myself by doing such things, and helped a few others out. Would gladly do it for you too, but as I only have WW (no TT), I can only do that for parks with just WW........

In future you could do what R_E suggests:get the WW/TT-items out of your Objdata folder, back them up , and as long as you only play games which are made with just the original game (or the ones you make from then on with only the original stuff) the game will work fine without having to uninstall WW and TT.

Only, once you want to view a savedgame, from someone else or one of your own, that is made with WW/TT, you have to replace all WW/TT objects into your folder again for the savedgame to work (so you cannot rely on just having the game being exported). Most practical is to have 2 Objdata folders: one with just the original RCT2 objects and custom scenery, and one with the originals as well as the ones belonging to WW/TT. That way it's very easy to change between the 2 object folders whenever you need/want them.

Emergo :D

Edit: LoooL!!, while I was still typing this post I had not seen you already have your volunteer (R_E posted in the meantime with his lovely offer )

As many of you may know, I have been re-creating The Magic Kingdom. I know it has been done often, but honestly, I wanted to make one that was as accurate as possible, and allowed me to use my new (talents?) with objecteditor (thanks for creating this great program James/Dr J). However, I complained that no-one was logging on to the topic. It was cjman who made a great point, and brought me back to my earlier park Inspiration Park. I'm glad he did. I will finish Magic Kingdom and post it for anyone who is interested, but for now I am moving on with this park. I am grateful to cjman for his input (as usual), and am really having fun again. I think I was getting frustrated with The Magic Kingdom after a while, because I was only copying, not creating. It is a real challenge to accurately re-do a park like Disney's, but I'd spent so much time on it that I forgot how much I liked playing the game on my own terms. I've had a blast going back to this park, and will likely do one more of my own before attempting the completion of Magic Kingdom. I hope y'all enjoy as much as I have.

Here is the newest area to this forum, called: Ingenuity. It was originally called Inspiration when the park name was Intuition, but I named the main lake Intuition Lake instead
Here she be:

This is the theatre. Stuffed characters dance on the stage.

I've completed Joy as well, and will post it soon.

Thanks.

Wow, looks great! I don't see how ANYBODY can completely re-create a park, so MAJOR props to you, keep it up, looks great!
