I find some spare time to play PC games. It's really relaxing! I love designing most of all and really enjoy that aspect of playing Roller Coaster Tycoon, The Sims, & Zoo Tycoon. I also love reading, watching old movies & my pet cat, a Norwegian Forest Blue (very fluffy & playful), named "Dusty".

You didn't miss it??? Ah, maybe no time for TV while in Poland I suppose....? We love Family Guy here at our house...

Anyway, here are a few "Did You Know" facts from me....

Eskimos use refrigerators to keep food from freezing.

Sharks are immune to all known diseases.

There are more than ten billion web pages on the internet.

Every person has a unique tongue print.

All the planets in the solar system rotate anticlockwise, except Venus. It is the only planet that rotates clockwise.

Julius Caesar was known as a great swimmer.

Leonardo da Vinci could write with the one hand and draw with the other simultaneously.

Sound travels through water 3 times faster than through air.

There are more than 7 million millionaires in the world.

Mel Blanc, who played the voice of the cartoon character Bugs Bunny, was allergic to carrots.

The first movie to use sound was "The Jazz Singer," released in 1927: the first words, spoken by Al Jolson, were: "Wait a minute, you ain't heard nothing yet."

^To expand on your sound comment...

The denser a substance is, the faster sound will travel through it - this is becuase the atoms are closer together in denser substances (but of course, there are always those exceptions!) and it allows the sound waves to oscillate very easily, thus traveling faster. ANYWAY:

Sound travels- (m stands for meters)

346 m/sec in room temperature air
1186 m/sec in alcohol
1435 m/sec in freshwater
3848 m/sec in oak wood
5029 m/sec in steel
5093 m/sec in aluminum
5128 m/sec in iron

and 5503 m/sec in glass.

WOW!

And it's the opposite for light. Light travels at 300,000,000 m/sec through room temperature air and only 125,000,000 m/sec through diamond. That's less than half as fast as it travels through air!!

:geek:
