Hi everyone im relatively new to the site, i joined about a week ago. I own all 3 rct games and i have gone through fazes so to speak. My favorite has been 1,2 and 3 at some point. But right now 2 is my favourite and has been for the longest time. I noticed that there seems to be less and less people posting recently. in the new topics space on the forms home page 3 out of the 5 topics are mine! im worried i and a handfull of others are fighting a losing battle but if you are just becoming a member for the downloads, please give posting a try so we can bring back this site to what it once was

Hello everyone, I've been away from RCT for quite a few years, but now I'm back! I do have a question.... I've downloaded some tracks (some that I did years ago, and others as well). I've made sure they are unzipped to the correct folder, but they aren't showing up in the game! What am I doing wrong?

You say they are in the correct folder...

Are they RCT1 or RCT2? Are they for the correct game?
Are you making sure the correct coaster is included in the game/scenario you are using?

RCT2... and yes, and yes! I don't know why they aren't showing up! They are in the tracks... I think it may be the version of rct that I bought... I don't think it was from a reputable site (in hindsight) but I haven't been able to find hard copies (actual discs) so I had to download online. I'd also like to get all my work back... FmC - FULLmoonCRAZY, if anyone can help me out with that, I'd appreciate it!

I think that maybe it's because of the version of the game I downloaded.... it was online, and after I downloaded, I immediately got the feeling that something was wrong. How can I get the real rct2? I looked... but was unable to find actual discs to install. I'm at a loss....

wow... that was wierd. I wrote a response, it disappeared, and I wrote another. When I sent the second response, both showed up. So... I guess my dual personalities have spoken! I've been outta the rct loop for many years, but I still love it, and want to come back! I don't have any of my old tracks, and I don't have contact info for any of my old rctrevalutions friends too. If anyone can tell me how to contact Jadedrac, Dkimber, or anyone else from that timeframe, I'd be forever indebted!

Hello!

I'm really surprised it's taken me this long to join an RCT forum. I've played the game pretty regularly since I got it brand new in 1999. I love RCT and RCT2, though RCT3 just doesn't do anything for me. It doesn't "feel" right... I don't know. Looking over some of the parks here I'm impressed by all the skill the members here have- the parks created are really beautiful. My only claim to fame is that back in 2010 my brother and I went square by square and copied "Dinky Park", Bumbly Beach" and most of "Haunted Harbor" from RCT1 to RCT2 so that we could play with them with more "freedom". In hindsight it probably wasn't the best use of time, but it sure was fun!

My top 5 favorite RCT parks are, in order:

Crumbly Woods
Haunted Harbor
BPB
Razor Rocks
Katie's World

For technical issues that I have, I am having a whale of a time getting either game to play on Windows 8. Not a huge issue- I have a legacy gaming computer running Windows 2000 for all of my RCT needs, but I think it would be fun to play RCT on my i7 quad core laptop.

Guess I'll revive this thread to say hello from a new member to the forums. I've been on and off ping ponging between New Element and RCTObjectlist for a while now, releasing some custom content. Longer at New Element though, and more recently, the RCTObjectList forums. I see the forums are pretty quiet here, which is pretty understandable when you have a game this old. Man, I remember starting out playing RCT2 back around 2005/2006, and the scene was just boomin' with people making rides and scenery. Of course, at the time, I had absolutely no means or skills in making custom scenery, so I just enjoyed everything people were making. Here I am, long after everyone leaves, getting on the boat for making custom scenery and whatnot. Go figure huh?

 

Well, anyway, I decided even though the community has scattered these days, I'd still do what I've always wanted to do since first realizing custom scenery was possible, and that's making my own stuff for me and to share as well. More recently, I've been dipping into custom ride making as well, but nothing to really write home about lol.

 

I'm not too familiar with these forums so I wasn't sure if sharing scenery and rides here is possible. If so, I would love to share the small amount of stuff I've done already as well as any future stuff I may put out.

Welcome render8. It's good to see people like you re-energising the game and the forums.

 

The Ride Exchange is where you can share your rides (when I have switched on uploading again). We have never really offered to host other people's scenery items. RCT2 Object List do a far better job of that.

no problems on the not hosting objects. I've uploaded a lot of stuff to the RCT2 Object List site as well. I just know you have to register to be able to download there, which is easy enough. I have a rapidgator account which I plan to use to link my objects for other places as well, and just hope they don't go down lol.

 

Anyhow, thanks again for the welcome and hopefully someday the boards will get jumping again. I see a lot of guests coming through, so it's apparent there's still a lot of activity, which is good. I'll keep doing my thing here and having fun making stuff. I'm mostly into doing custom scenery though, so I don't have anything to offer in the ways of coasters and parks.

Hey everyone!  Just got here a few minutes ago and noticed this thread so I'm saying hello!  I work mostly with RCT2.   After seeing what some people can do with RCT2 I decided I might as well get in on custom maps as well.  I've been playing it since 2002.
