It's recommended you do that because some functions on the trainer causes an "Error Trapper" which will cause the game to close without warning so saving often won't be a problem if it appears. Also, if you do silly stuff on the rides, it can cause an "Error Trapper" so you should always save before you edit a ride.I'm not sure I understand that thing about it messes up the game's memory so save often.

It is always good computer practice to save your work periodically - with any program. RCT2 is no exception. There have been far too many "I worked on that park for weeks - now it's damaged and won't open" posts. The question is always "Did you save the most recent version?" (deer in the headlights stare)
Every time you open a park in progress - edit something - and save it, don't save it with the same filename. If something happens - you lose all your work. Save it as "park23.sv6" or "park24.sv6"... you get the picture. Different versions so you can go back a step or two if necessary.
This is especially true when using certain features on the trainers. Not that the trainers do anything bad - far from it. It's just that anytime you make the program do something it doesn't ordinarily do by design, problems can occur. We already know RCT2 is tempermental in this area anyway - so why tempt fate?
Use the trainers - they are wonderful! But be smart and save versions of your work in progress. The park you save may be your own...

Ok, thnank you. That really helps.
I'm still not sure if I will download it. I want to think about it a little more, but I probably will.
Thanks

Got a trapper error today working on a launch coaster. Only had one saved version...looks like I will have to start all over again. It's good that I wasn't so far into the park.

If I begin hacking a park... I always save it with the name: [name] -hacking-
Always save before hacking...
