Maybe I overlooked something but, I don't recall seeing anything that said that
hacking was REQUIRED. Correct me if I'm wrong because I'd hate to have my
entry disqualified.

Nothing says it is required - just allowed.

-Trainers: Trainers and Hacking are allowed. If however the judges cannot open your park, or need special tools or instructions - it may be disqualified.

Welcome to MONACO - the starting point for our 2009 Road Rally...
The OBJECTIVES for the Monaco leg of the 2009 Road Rally are:

  • Use the provided workbench
  • Build a Giga Looper using JA-227's Giga Looper - and it must be launched with the launched lift.
Experienced players will know how to make available the option to build launched hill.
  • Theme it all to Monaco

I assumed that meant for one to hack a lift hill. But that was late at night, and I now recall the track piece "launched lift hill". My mistake! Perhaps this world isn't coming to what I thought it was. This rr just has a more...in depth objective set that what I've been used to seeing in the past 3 years. :P

;)
That's because we had to use the same benches for the past three years.
I have to admit. It got pretty boring to see the same bench of junk every time.
:(

^Hey, hey, don't be so harsh! It is a hell of a lot of work to make a good bench you know! If you know how much time and trouble was put into this contest over the years, not only the bench but also the planning, realising etc. I'm sure you wouldn't say that!

It's about why the new benches were so few and far between,
and why they seemed so simular.

Not on how a bench is made or how RCT Space presents the Road Rally.

OK, but still....I helped making the bench for this last one and you wouldnīt believe how many hours went into that....And I didnīt even built it from scratch.....It was mainly done by Louis, I only fine tuned it.
