Garet and I have been on MSN about this. It is NOT a Ridex Bug, just finger trouble on Garet's part.

I keep getting weird characters and no download when I try to download a coaster. I have tried it in both firefox and in IE.

Most likely a problem at your end, not ours. Download "managers" on people's PCs have caused this problem in the past.

Calm down buddy.

Just because you don't use a download manager, it could still be a problem at your end. Which track were you trying to download when you experienced this error? When you say that you could see what's in the file, surely you can only see it once it's on your computer... could it be that you've saved it in an obscure location and that you can't find it now?

Skyvanman, Flare thousands upon thousands of downloads have been made successfully. If you truly believe that this a server side problem, please give more details about error messages, screenshots if possible, step by step guides about what you are doing when the problem occurs.

But be warned that if you do this I will *still* probably tell you that the problem is on your PC or your internet connection. ;)

My internet connectionn is okay.(ADSL(also known as PPPoA))
I tryed to download the Twin loop layout. Then it showed me the content of the file instead of the file self.(Note:It showed up at the top of the page, above the part where the normal RCT2.com ridex part.)This is what showed up at the top:
PK Tracks/PK#LxTTracks/Twin Loop.td6kp_o4M5uu\yrDD=+-vtz&<ºda'/-PJ^ "L ֯I7'y| y%/Ă]jFL|?%"<5 DJT i~bDCJJzrIm@@q܍1 ӥb</7;19'N*¨2i,tvǽ{{gvLܿJ̷|s?wM!dkr4{)Brj):.5Y䥁yjJ6g$鏁M!]l-{}RhSu/9x{ݒj} HdsU`Pl\l Ko]ƽqbEWՖlӖr_I͍۸J̧Tr'w9{,<RSٙ)/pD#Xp. 7T Ua~af+E, ٛ;[P;sS{e$k(cx[p1L(n VPpo5f _N'9l!h]0{[|#LxTPK Build/PK l%Build/Twin Loop.htmlr8sd حd7UP jkj.`U䐼,pH҆ao0_K_mu߻ gt=9|8<h0,5 27z;Τp +y,2XGqJh.R(.JKxjM'NNTA0v10)iWib+"R+/nB &/+!G\ R+xp(bd8~ \GFwH~}oA-BLFm5"µWyČ6vFR,O--dF<*zo|ZdG2y%Lnx*g2[ j8=}+<L6G`@`մZXHP 5$ uz<HzHH>hG 74JBZ1zwKڋ4 !Aj aJ/YE: UnD*-#{ h 7xzs67mRJ6iWD!hrUi Q +gOEW#e.-c^Ho>:sg|o>(Qha3>+\?q1l\!l=0m ! 7|ͥ,j7bVa\[1 Y[BBr[a zuVHו|?CŸs_?ZX b;UouRŒvKDv/G['$\x*^M ߭^LMWR}Hk=9X<-ηF97J6%33VM8t$?tk uV=R g&i̟Yi,ݙsw^E{BN\<)♗`7R2ڌ i)FJZF-V~v3yܨnL8hi 4&*3͍;.̄1:1>Sfoͧ0Vu3|}>/qgYYp) FM)4ӹ'E6w}a+j6sRm&v l%PK Tracks/PK#LxT 1Tracks/Twin Loop.td6PK Build/PK l% Build/Twin Loop.htmlPKV
It says me completely nothing, and my system is also O.K. for the rest(just have took out the thrash files). So I think it's a server side problem(I also don't have a firewall)

EDIT:Here is the screen.Posted Image

Thanks Flare, that is almost exactly what I was expecting to see.

This is caused by something on your PC I'm afraid. Others have had this problem who have download managers installed, the sort that enable PCs to restart downloads from where they left off. I think some pop-up blockers also can cause problems.

The Ride Exchange code is sending HTTP file headers and then sending the file as a byte stream. (It does this instead of just giving you a direct link to the download files to stop 'leechers' onto our files.)

What should happen is that the browser receives the HTTP headers and then puts up the usual File Save dialog. However it appears that something else on your PC is 'trapping' the headers, not handling communication with your browser properly, so the file contents byte stream just appears as "garbage" in your browser window.

I'm afraid that this is *NOT* a server problem, there is nothing we can do server side to fix this problem you are having.

Okay then. I'll add RCT2.com to my list to not block pop-ups, maybe that solves the problem. If it does not,I'll tell it too.
EDIT:Nope, still thrash
