First off, this thread is dead, the last post was from July. Second, it is called Six Flags Great America, and the ride is called Giant Drop, not Drop of Death...

You know? I HATE it when someone deems a topic dead after only a few weeks have passed. Especially when their NOT admin or a mod.

Alright, well maybe if Xhalo posted something that was kind of meaningful to the thread it would be different. Something like current news. Instead Xhalo brought up this topic to say they had been on a ride similar, and the chances are slim of it happening again. These things have definetely already been metioned, and it is not worth bringing up an old thread...

Also, I happen to think if there are no new posts after a few weeks the thread is dead. Sure it can be brought back up, but the person should have a good reason for it. This post was just a basic post that really didn't need to be posted...

That is just what I think...

I know! How about we let the staff here decide if the thread is dead or not? What a concept, huh??? :woot:

If anyone has a question about a thread they think is dead being brought back, they should use the "Report a Post" button on the lower left. We currently are all out of "Junior Moderator" badges and secret decoder rings, so it's best that current staff handle this stuff rather than anyone else taking on the job.

For the record...this thread was NOT dead and Xhalo made a legit post. As the community slows there are going to be threads that don't get new posts for periods of time. That is to be expected, and as long as it's not outlandish (dragging something dated last January is not going to fly, for instance...), it's alright. Again, if anyone's unsure - ASK!

Now, we can let this topic slumber again.

<-

BTW: If you were to purge your subscribed topics in your control panel, you won't get bothersome Email notifications on topics that you may have deemed "dead".

Even if it's a few months old and talked to death by the regular members, for someone who is new - it's still new. I do understand it can be annoying and have said so in the forums before. When a topic is a year or more old and the issue that is the focus of the topic no longer even exists - OK, that is dead and is best left alone...

Whatever, I guess it is just a pet peeve of mine. I hate when people do it over at SSC...

Doesn't bother me in the slightest. Neither does double-posts. So, you know my forums are a mess.
