Tonight, I got Windows Vista. Cool. Problem is that when I tried to run RCT3, it wouldn't run. When I checked why it won't run, I found that RCT3 CAN'T run on Vista. I'm wondering how I can fix this. Any suggestions?

If you upgraded rather than purchased a new computer with Vista installed - did you upgrade your video driver to a version that is Vista compatible and RCT3 compatible?

(moving over to the Vista thread Becky pointed out...)

RCT3 does in fact work on Vista. Not sure who told you it won't, but they are wrong.

Do you have a dual core machine? If so, there's a work around you'll need to do since RCT3 wasn't designed for dual core machines. There's also different paths to access billboard images, the community has discovered themselves how to get around that as well.

Both the Atari Forums Technical Support, and Frontier's Forums have pinned topics about the dual-core fix, Atari has the information about the billboards work-around.

I bought a new computer and Vista was the OS and yes, it has duel-core.

I probably won't be getting Vista- At least for a while. But If I get Vista, I'll most likely have a better RCT3 experience and RCT2 I hear also runs okay on Vista. But what about RCT1? Would it be pointless to get RCT1 by then unless I have another OS Running on Windows 98-XP (I had RCT1, but the disk went bad and I couldn't Install it, but it's available on Amazon and eBay.) ?

Vista alone will not give you a better RCT3 experience. If you upgrade OS only - RCT3 will run slower as more system overhead is being consumed by Vista.
